As a Product Development Technician, you will support product development activities by assisting the senior chemist with the preparation, application, and testing of coating systems and related materials. Your role will be a hands-on laboratory role focused on implementing experimental work, generating reliable test data, and maintaining an organized and safe working environment.
Key responsibilities include preparing liquid coating samples, applying coatings to test panels and production parts using established procedures, conducting physical and performance testing, recording and reporting results, and maintaining laboratory equipment and inventory. You will also supports development projects through sample preparation, data collection, quality checks, and routine laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accurate execution of laboratory procedures.
Work alongside the chemist and assist in preparing liquid coating formulations.
Operate laboratory equipment for weighting, mixing, dispersing raw materials to produce laboratory-scale samples.
Prepare coated samples using different application techniques (spray, rolling, drawdowns).
Control and verify dry film thickness (DFT) and other coating parameters.
Operate curing ovens.
Perform simple analytical testing on liquid and coated samples, such as viscosity measurements, gloss, etc.
Conduct performance testing used in the cookware and bakeware industry to assess coating quality.
Organize and maintain raw materials, samples, and laboratory supplies.
Collect and prepare laboratory material for daily laboratory work.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization in accordance with 5s principles.
Work safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards.
Qualifications
Technical diploma or junior degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technologies or related.
At least 1 years of laboratory experience.
Ability to perform hand-on laboratory work.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Ability to communicate in English is highly preferred, not mandatory.
