Position Summary
The Global Procurement Manager – China Hub serves as the strategic interface between the company and key A-level global and local suppliers in China. The role acts as the central coordination point between suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, R&D, and Business Units, responsible for developing and managing strategic supplier relationships, ensuring business performance across Cost, Quality, Delivery, and Innovation, and driving long-term supplier partnerships aligned with global business objectives.
The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic thinking, and executive presence, with the ability to engage at eye level with supplier senior management and executives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key and potential strategic suppliers in China.
- Lead regular business reviews and strategic discussions with supplier management.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen supplier collaboration and support business growth.
Commercial & Cost Management
- Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, investments, capacity, and contracts.
- Improve cost transparency and identify savings opportunities.
- Support sourcing decisions in line with global procurement strategies.
Quality & Performance Management
- Lead the resolution of critical supplier quality issues.
- Partner with Supplier Quality teams to drive sustainable improvements.
- Support supplier capability development to ensure high performance and quality standards.
Delivery & Supply Chain Management
- Ensure supplier capacity, readiness, and supply continuity.
- Manage supply risks and resolve delivery-related issues.
- Collaborate with Logistics and Manufacturing teams to strengthen supply chain performance.
- Drive proactive risk mitigation plans for key suppliers.
Technology & Innovation Collaboration
- Support supplier involvement in product development and innovation activities.
- Coordinate technical discussions between suppliers and R&D teams.
- Promote value engineering, localization, and new product introduction initiatives.
- Identify and develop innovation opportunities with strategic suppliers.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Act as the main interface for supplier-related topics across Procurement, Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, R&D, and Business units.
- Lead cross-functional teams to address supplier challenges and drive improvements.
- Align regional business needs with global procurement strategies.
- Provide management with regular updates on supplier performance, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master's degree or MBA preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, or related functions.
- Proven experience managing strategic suppliers and complex supplier ecosystems.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, electrical, automation, or technology industries preferred.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and cross-functional leadership.
