Key Responsibilities
Develop new product strategy aligned with business strategy
- Translate consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis into robust product concepts and formulation briefs.
- Lead the alignment with sales, marketing and finance to ensure the new product idea is sizable and meaningful to business.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop product name, product claims and label design etc.
Good management of NPD project, on time delivery with high quality
- Own the NPD stage-gate process, managing critical paths from concept to launch.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Packaging, Marketing) to ensure seamless execution and on time delivery.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks related to raw material availability, formulation challenges, or regulatory changes.
- Ensure all process comply with global and local regulations.
Ensure the new product can meet financial KPIs
- Evaluate the new product ideas can meet financial KPI in terms of topline sales incremental, gross margin and division margin.
- Drive value-engineering initiatives to reduce COGS without compromising product performance.
- Manage the NPD budget, including trial costs, lab testing, and pilot runs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related discipline. A PhD is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on NPD experience within the dietary supplement, functional food, or sports nutrition industry.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of powder blending, wet granulation, encapsulation, tableting, and liquid/pouch filling technologies.
- Project Management: Proven track record of launching successful commercial products;
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, cross-functional leadership, and ability to influence without authority.
