About the Business

Our Business Tax practice delivers comprehensive and innovative tax services to clients using a collaborative and practical approach. We help businesses meet their tax and statutory responsibilities while identifying planning opportunities and mitigating unwarranted risks. We also utilize technology to help manage the efficiency and effectiveness of our clients' tax operations and turn compliance data into insights that deliver real business value and strategic advantage to client organizations.

Work you'll do

Apply relevant technical knowledge and native-level Japanese language proficiency throughout the Business Tax project lifecycle (including client discussions and advisory deliverables) to enhance the quality of deliverables to Japanese management teams.
Support partners and service teams in expanding the client base by leveraging established business relationships and networks, including Japanese companies, those with Japanese business associations and chambers of commerce.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring culturally and linguistically effective management of client engagements between Japanese and Chinese.
Identify and help secure new business opportunities through ongoing client interactions, supporting partners and teams in deepening client relationships and expanding service scopes.
Continuously learn and develop expertise in tax regulations, progressively enhancing capabilities in business development and service delivery for inbound and outbound engagements.

We are looking for someone with

Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related disciplines are preferred.
Professional qualification as a certified public accountant, registered tax agent, or lawyer in China, Japan, or other jurisdictions is preferred, but not mandatory.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting firms (Big 4 experience preferred), law firms, large corporations, or consulting firms; candidates with experience in providing tax advisory and cross-border tax services to Japanese companies operating in China are highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, business development capabilities, and excellent communication skills, with initiative, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to travel.
Native Japanese speaker with in-depth understanding of the Chinese market and business environment; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and long-term residence in China are strong advantages.
Established business relationships with Japanese companies (especially those operating in or expanding into China) and Japanese business associations.
