Job Description
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a critical role within the Sales & Marketing organization, responsible for identifying and generating qualified sales opportunities within defined target accounts aligned to LSEG’s Ideal Customer Profile.
This role focuses on account research and proactive outreach via email, phone, and social channels, following structured contact cadence and SLA requirements, supported by CRM and sales engagement tools.
Prospecting activities are guided by customer analytics, predictive marketing models, and targeted campaigns across financial institutions and corporate clients within specific regions or product segments. The BDR leverages next-generation technology, prioritized prospect lists, and marketing insights to drive efficient pipeline creation.
The BDR qualifies opportunities by assessing client needs, buying propensity, and alignment with LSEG’s offerings. Success in this role includes effectively articulating LSEG’s value proposition and securing follow-up meetings with sales specialists or account managers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research target accounts to understand business models, challenges, and drivers for LSEG solutions
- Identify and map key decision-makers aligned with campaign priorities
- Execute structured outbound prospecting across accounts, client types, and regions
- Leverage CRM, sales automation tools, and marketing insights to optimize outreach
- Generate qualified sales opportunities and pipeline within target accounts
Secondary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations to drive account growth
- Continuously build knowledge of LSEG products, services, and market positioning
- Translate market trends into targeted outreach campaigns
- Strengthen LSEG’s brand positioning internally and externally
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions
- Client-first mindset and ability to deliver high-quality engagement experiences
- Resilience and persistence in high-volume outbound environments
- Ability to convey product value concisely and effectively
- Experience in financial services, marketing, or technology-driven sales environments preferred
- Background in high-volume sales, customer service, or lead generation roles
