SUMMARY:
Responsible for supplier quality management, supplier development and onboarding, quality system audits, process and product audits, incoming material quality improvement, and closed-loop issue management.
Drive suppliers to comply with automotive quality management system requirements and Laird quality standards. Provide focused support for quality planning, quality issue analysis, and continuous improvement of polymer materials, structural components, electroplated parts, and related components to ensure supplier deliveries meet customer, regulatory, and Laird’s quality requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead potential supplier qualify activities, including quality system audits, qualification assessments, quality agreement signing, sample approval, and pre-production quality planning.
- Conduct supplier quality system and process audits in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and applicable special process requirements.
- Manage supplier-side quality issue analysis for incoming materials, follow up on 8D/SCAR actions, verify corrective and preventive actions, and ensure effective closure in supplier site.
- Develop and maintain incoming inspection documents, and provide training and guidance to IQC inspectors.
- Drive continuous improvement at suppliers in process stability, yield improvement, defect prevention, key characteristic control, and change management.
- Work with project teams to participate in supplier APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plan, inspection standard, and key quality document reviews for new projects.
- Maintain supplier quality performance indicators and regularly organize quality meetings, risk assessments, and escalation activities.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Engineering, continuous improvement teams, Production, and other internal functions to follow up and effectively resolve incoming material abnormalities and customer complaints related to raw material quality.
- Complete other supplier quality-related tasks assigned by the supervisor and manager.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiar with automotive quality management system requirements, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and control plans.
- Familiar with hazardous substance management and social responsibility audit processes and methods, with the ability to plan and independently issue complete audit reports.
- Have VDA 6.3 and CQI series process auditor training certificates and practical audit experience
- Familiar with the characteristics and processes of polymer materials or electroplating, as well as material properties, reliability, and failure mode analysis.
- Familiar with common electroplating processes, appearance defects, coating thickness, adhesion, corrosion resistance, and process control requirements.
- Capable of applying 8D, 5 Why, fishbone diagrams, risk assessment, and corrective/preventive action verification methods.
- Able to read drawings, technical specifications, inspection standards, and customer-specific requirements, and translate them into supplier quality control requirements.
- Strong cross-functional communication, supplier management, project management, and data analysis skills.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, able to work under pressure, with strong risk awareness, independent thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to accommodate frequent business travel.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Materials, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality, incoming quality, process quality, customer quality, or related quality management roles.
- Experience in automotive supplier quality management is required; experience managing polymer material or electroplating suppliers is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Good English reading and writing skills, CET-4 or above; good oral skill is preferred.
- Able to write professional email responses, prepare audit reports in English; communicate effectively through instant communication tools such as Teams, and Able to read English technical requirements、quality standards and customer specifications.
