Wayfair is redefining the way goods move around the world through a vertically integrated and differentiated supply chain. To enable this experience, Wayfair has created CastleGate Forwarding, our proprietary end-to-end logistics network that moves containers across the globe to our warehouses and beyond. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and high-visibility initiative - we are seeking team members to disrupt the status quo and redefine the freight forwarding business.
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Asia-based CastleGate Forwarding Operations team. This is a high-impact strategy and operations role offering end-to-end ownership of strategic initiatives across Wayfair's origin logistics network. You will work closely with teams across Operations, Commercial and Technology to shape strategy, influence key decisions, and deliver initiatives with meaningful business impact.
As a Senior Associate, you will bring expertise in freight forwarding, origin operations, and data-driven decision-making to improve operational performance and drive continuous improvement across the CastleGate Forwarding network. You will independently lead cross-functional initiatives across key operational programs, including Incident Prevention, Origin Trucking, and other strategic operations projects, taking ownership from problem identification and solution design through implementation and measurement of results.
While the role requires strong analytical capabilities, data and reporting are viewed as enablers of operational excellence rather than the end objective. The successful candidate must be comfortable translating operational challenges into scalable solutions, leveraging analytics, automation, and technology to drive measurable business outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
-
Lead Strategic Operations Initiatives: Own a portfolio of high-impact initiatives across CastleGate Forwarding Operations — including Incident Prevention, Origin Trucking, and Consolidation Operations — identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, aligning stakeholders, and leading execution from concept through implementation and measurable business outcomes.
- Drive Business Performance: Identify opportunities to improve service, cost, quality, and network performance by combining operational insight, data analysis, and cross-functional execution.
- Use Data to Drive Decisions: Structure ambiguous business problems, quantify opportunities, and use data to influence decisions, prioritise investments, and measure business impact.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with Operations, Technology, Product, Suppliers, Warehouse and Vendor teams to drive alignment and execute business priorities.
- Influence and Deliver Change: Build alignment across senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, manage risks, and ensure initiatives are successfully embedded into day-to-day operations.
What You'll Need:
-
Strategy, Program Management or Operations Excellence Experience: 4+ years leading cross-functional projects in consulting, strategy, PMO, operations excellence, supply chain, or related environments. Demonstrated ability to independently drive initiatives from problem definition through implementation and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Analytical & Technical Competency: Advanced proficiency in SQL/BigQuery, Excel/Google Sheets, and visualization tools (Looker, Power BI, or Google Data Studio). Proven experience using analytics and automation to solve operational challenges.
- Industry Experience: Background in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, warehouse operations, or related operational environments preferred. Experience in origin warehouse consolidation, quality control, trucking, or supplier operations is a plus.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations.
- Mindset & Execution: Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while being a collaborative team player who works effectively across functions. Comfortable navigating ambiguity, bringing structure to complex problems, and driving practical solutions in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
- Qualifications & Travel: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field preferred. Fluency in English and Mandarin required. Willingness to travel across China, Southeast Asia and India as business needs require.
