Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Refurbishment Engineer who is passionate about transforming how Dyson’s products are restored, recovered, and returned to customers. You’ll be hands‑on in shaping the future of refurbishment operations, defining and delivering engineering strategies that elevate quality, efficiency, and capability across our global refurbishment network.
You’ll drive regional alignment, technical governance, and major engineering programmes that enable consistent B‑grade output and world‑class refurbishment standards. Working closely with design engineering, global engineering, operations, suppliers, and aftersales teams, you will influence stakeholders and set technical priorities that strengthen our circularity ambitions and operational performance end-to-end.
You will build strong and effective relationships across multiple global teams, staying ahead of emerging engineering methods, operational technologies, and refurbishment best practices. You’ll be responsible for translating these into scalable, data‑driven solutions that embed robustness and repeatability into our downstream operations.
You’ll work closely with internal and external partners across the global supply chain, refurbishment operations, and quality teams, driving continuous improvement and long‑term capability development.
You’ll work as the technical lead and expert for Contract manufactures (CM) and Joint Design Manufactures (JDM) to design and launch the advanced refurbishment process. You’ll be the key technical interface with CM and JDM to ensure we deliver high quality refurbished products.
You’ll engage in New Product introduction (NPD) integration to embed refurbishment requirements into product design and development. Ensure new products are refurbishment-ready at launch.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be expected operate autonomously while leading cross‑functional teams to deliver engineering excellence across the global refurbishment organisation.
Responsibilities

Lead downstream engineering activities within global refurbishment to deliver B‑grade output for the aftersales markets.

Maintain, coordinate, and deliver engineering processes, governance, and technical decision‑making for refurbishment engineering across EMEA but not limited.

Drive yield, cost, and throughput improvements through data‑led analysis.

Lead process optimisation initiatives in collaboration with internal and external operations teams, equipment suppliers, and Dyson support functions.

Support the development and launch of B‑grade products into global markets.

Drive global standardisation of downstream refurbishment engineering processes.

Develop and implement lean principles and best practices within refurbishment engineering.

Ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality standards across all operations.

Lead structured problem‑solving activities and root‑cause investigations.

Monitor, communicate, and report progress on engineering activities to key business stakeholders.

Mentor, coach, and technically develop refurbishment engineers.

Align with Aftersales, Quality, RDD and Business Unit teams to define and deliver technical and operational priorities.
About You

Engineering background—degree in engineering with experience in product delivery and operations.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production KPIs, and lean principles.

Hands‑on experience with product assembly, fault‑finding, and technical diagnostics.

Familiarity with process design, continuous improvement, and supply‑chain strategy.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of translating complex data into practical solutions.

Strong communication and influencing skills—comfortable working with both technical and non‑technical teams, presenting to senior leadership, and leading cross‑functional projects without direct authority.

Self‑driven, proactive, and organised, with the ability to manage multiple global projects from a campus‑based role.

Experienced in managing senior stakeholders.

Demonstrated sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a track record of ownership, data‑driven decision‑making, and influencing outcomes.
