As a Technical Support Specialist at ICON, you will be essential in providing technical assistance and support to ensure the smooth operation of our clinical systems and technologies.
What You Will Do:
Your role will involve delivering scientific operations work to a high standard, working closely with your team and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage CAP, NGSP, and local PT/EQA programs , including sample ordering, distribution, result evaluation, investigation of unsatisfactory performance, and maintenance of compliance records.
- Coordinate and maintain Alternative Assessment (AA) and correlation studies to ensure ongoing compliance with CAP/CLIA and laboratory quality requirements.
- Act as the laboratory lead for Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) programs , ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Serve as the laboratory focal point for radiation safety, chemical safety, biosafety, and occupational health programs , including risk assessments, incident investigations, safety inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
- Maintain laboratory ESH documentation, safety permits, chemical inventories, SDS management, waste management records, and employee safety training records.
- Partner closely with the Facilities team to maintain a safe, compliant, and audit-ready laboratory environment, including support for internal audits, sponsor audits, CAP inspections, and regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate laboratory safety committees, emergency response preparedness, workplace inspections, and ESH improvement initiatives.
- Oversee REES temperature monitoring system management , including user administration, alarm management, investigation follow-up, change control, and system compliance.
- Manage laboratory environmental monitoring activities and support qualification, maintenance, and compliance activities for laboratory infrastructure and critical systems.
- Coordinate temperature mapping, qualification, monitoring, calibration, and compliance activities for laboratory refrigerators, freezers, incubators, environmental chambers, and other temperature-controlled equipment.
- Maintain laboratory equipment inventories, calibration schedules, preventive maintenance records, and qualification documentation to ensure continuous compliance.
- Support document control, archive management, new test implementation activities, regulatory inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Your Profile:
You will bring relevant scientific operations experience, along with the following qualifications and skills.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a Clinical Laboratory, Central Laboratory, Bioanalytical Laboratory, QA, Laboratory Compliance, or ESH environment.
- Familiarity with CAP, CLIA, GCP, GLP, ISO 15189, PT/EQA, REES, laboratory equipment management, biosafety, chemical safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance programs .
- Experience managing laboratory temperature monitoring systems, equipment qualification, calibration programs, and audit/inspection readiness is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple compliance, quality, and ESH-related activities simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
