CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) is a rapidly growing freight forwarding start-up within Wayfair, moving containers across the globe to Wayfair’s shelves and elsewhere. Our proprietary end-to-end logistics network enables us to drive speed, quality and lower costs. A key component of our logistics and supply chain footprint are our CastleGate Forwarding services. We are scaling a global digital freight forwarding business and developing a differentiated experience for importers, who want to be part of a supply chain for the e-commerce age.
Job Description:
Own and drive end-to-end operational improvement initiatives, focusing on eliminating manual work, improving performance, and enabling scalable automation.
Project management: Own end-to-end freight-forwarding initiatives, focused on unblocking frictions, improving performance and user experience, driving adoption. Includes eCommerce logistics portal
Provide assistance in data and reporting tasks in the scope of ocean and/or CFS operations
Proactively align with internal and external stakeholders on overall ocean and/or CFS operational performance and adherence
Work cross-functionally with stakeholders (including sales & services teams and external vendors) to design and implement automation solutions by translating business processes into structured logic.
Key Qualities/Skills required:
Structural and clear in communications. Able to illustrate issues, opportunities, challenges in the complex ocean operations in a clear way
Strong ability to collaborate across multiple functions (e.g., Order Management, Execution, Ocean, Destination Ops) to drive end-to-end process improvements
Hands-on experience or strong interest in workflow automation tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make) is required
Strong ownership mindset with ability to independently drive initiatives from problem identification to measurable impact
Data-driven decision making - able to make sound decisions with the support of data, and able to justify the decision with data in the operations full of ambiguity
Experience in process management and project management - able to monitor process adherence, identify process loopholes and drive process optimization
Experience in eCommerce Logistics online platform product is preferred
