Responsible for New Product Development - Cable assembly, meeting goals on lead time, quality & cost to meet internal or external customer ' s requirements
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, documents, and maintains the new projects for assigned New Product Development, Manufacturing Process Design, and/or Continuous Improvement projects.
2. Product feasibility review with x-functional team; Build BOM, product specification, FMEA, drawing, components specification;
3. Build engineering sample and product qualification; conduct new product first trial run and introduction.
4. Conducts DV, PV test plan, in detailed destructive analysis and failure analysis of products.
5. Support customer meetings from technical aspects.
6. ECR/ECN follow up, update engineering documents according to ECN
7. Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems and Initiatives by following stated policies and procedures.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SCOPE:
- High degree of responsibility on new product development, and Product / Process Quality results.
- Works independently reporting the activity and results are reviewed on an agreed upon basis with manager.
- Position has a global reach through work with other Molex, Customer, and Supplier entities.
- Position involves creative thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Travel to Customers, Suppliers, and other Molex entities as needed.
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED: • Bachelor ' s Degree
PREFERRED: • Bachelor ' s Degree in Mechatronic design
- Certified with IATF16949 and VDA6.3
- Training in Quality Sciences
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- 6+ years of related experience in product development activities (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and/or Sales/Marketing).
- Experience in cable assembly design and manufacture.
PREFERRED:
- Experience in high power cable/connector design and manufacture
- Experience in Advance Quality Planning methodologies and tools (FMEA, SPC, etc.)
- Experience or knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies and tools
- Experience working directly with external customers
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED:
- Able to communicate in English both written and spoken.
- 2D/3D drawing skills
- Strong customer relationship skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively influence co-workers, management, and external contacts to drive positive outcomes to situations.
- Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities among assigned projects.
- Individual to anticipate, plan, prioritize, and monitor workload.

- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong PC and Microsoft software skills.
- Ability to travel both domestically.
