The Senior Hardware Quality Engineer (Sr. HQE) will be responsible for designing test plans, test specifications- architecting test cases that push accessory firmware and logic to its limits, on hand test execution for compatibility, functionality and performance for Audio accessories while providing technical testing guidance to contractors, suppliers to ensure high quality customer experiences with Belkin Audio products. Individual will also work collaboratively with Product Development Management (PDM), Program Management (PGM), Industrial Design (ID), Engineering and Design Assurance (DA) teams to identify design improvements, to address process issues, facilitate continuous improvement and document resolution procedures, validate solutions for issues discovered during product testing and ensure that all products meet established requirements before release. Individual will also ensure that the test results are thorough and clear, so that sound decisions can be made and will be a key hands-on contributor in the product development life-cycle.
Specific responsibilities include:

Should be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Bluetooth headphones (TWS) testing.

Hands on experience and understanding in Audio measurement and validation with equipment like Audio analyzer, sound level meters, acoustic analyzer, Bluetooth Sniffer for Certification and latency validation.

Develop and implement test plans, test specifications, procedures, and methodologies to test the products robustly
-
Interpret product technical EE and FW audio specifications to design appropriate testing requirements and testing setup.

Confirm compliance with all functional testing requirements and support project life cycle through all E2/product life cycle gates.

Maintain hands on expertise with a variety of test equipment to ensure compliance with product specifications and requirements can be confirmed.

Theoretical knowledge of and testing experience with different interfaces; USB, Serial, Ethernet, 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm Aux port, Digital audio connector interfaces.

Hands on experience in using macOS, Windows, Android and iOS

Experience in Made for iOS device certification tests

Publish test reports/results to provide reliable information in a clear and concise manner that can be utilized for making sound engineering choices.

Work collaboratively with DA, Engineering and PDM groups to provide inputs to Product Functional Specifications.

Work with all functional groups to ensure that lessons learned are captured and incorporated into new product designs and development processes.

Should provide weekly updates to the Engineering leadership teams.

Attend all cross functional meetings and represent HWQE requirements for their projects

Excellent communication skills.

Plan all technical test cases, work with all test equipment to verify system level and component level product specifications.

Participate in design reviews to offer design solutions to failures and anomalies uncovered during product testing

Assist in the procurement of test equipment and commercial test software where applicable to support test requirements.

Improve efficiency in test execution, data reporting and bug tracking.

Work closely on the FMEA, Root cause analysis and CTQ requirements with the PQE team.

Investigate and establish SME on new technologies and test methodologies.

Respond to Agile related requests approvals.

Travel overseas and work with suppliers and help the Belkin DA team to audit the testing capabilities and quality standards during development and production.

Provide key inputs to the supplier assessment and supplier reporting cards.

Able to work directly with Customer Advocacy teams to communicate product issues and align on the testing requirements and equipment needs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required, MS degree a plus. Able to quickly grasp technical product quality issues, failure analysis reports, test reports, and technical engineering / design solutions.

5-7 years of demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance or Test Engineering roles.
