Duties & Responsibilities
- Product Management – 35%
- Responsible for maintaining the product and ensuring cross-functional compliance to product life cycle processes
- Work with team to address day-to-day technical issues, failure analysis and yield improvement, test efficiency, cost reduction etc. in the cost-effective engineering approach during the whole life cycle of product.
- Cooperate with teams on process, test and product development aligning with business need and the industrial technology development trend.
- Actively working with different sites, functions in the business on problem solving and improvement during the whole life cycle of product.
- Developing new product, supporting product builds ahead of GA, or sustaining GA product in manufacturing. Preparing statistic report from trials on production line for products life cycle review such as G3, G4 review
- As a key part of the PLC team, prepare manufacturing process summary for new development projects.
Production FA and yield improvement– 35%
- Provide guidance for technicians to do Failure Analysis for regular failures in mass production.
- Do Failure mode analysis when abnormal happens on engineering trial or production mass production.
- Execute experiment for improvement or problem solving according to R&D point of view and communicate with R&D anytime necessary.
- Failure mode analysis and data review for mass production, RMA analysis and reporting, respond for production yield improvement and cost reduction.
- Closely work with R&D for regular tracing for products in their life cycle.
- Work with QE and QA closely for quality issue solving
Operations Support – 15%
- Assist Operations in forecasting and revenue planning. As part of this process responsible for the unconstrained forecast (after discussions with sales team)
- Monitor and coordinate order fulfillment processes to meet cost, lead-time, on-time delivery, volumes, quality and margin objectives. In case of constraints or issues, escalation and drive mitigation actions with other members of the team.
- Drive on-going cost-reduction activities, support CPoR projects to do verification and change management.
- Benchmark costs and work with Ops/NPI/Supply chain to achieve cost targets, buffers and roadmaps
- Assist R&D and supply chain in identifying new vendors/CMs and participate in negotiations with key CMs/suppliers
- Collaborate closely with other BUs that supply components (in-feed) to ensure they remain competitive and are always 100% supplier of choice
- Work with Operations on capacity expansion Capital business case to support volume forecast.
System maintain and documentation – 15%
- Set up BOM , issue ECO for product Spec and Manufacture documents at Agile or other system such as ME or SAP.
- Update product related documents when change occurs.
- Raise documents in system for product for trace ability when a deviation agreed by team.
- Complete the outcome documents such as feasibility and execution report for R&D projects include new products, new equipment, new processes etc.
- Shipping documents review and fulfill specific requirement.
- Intellectual property applications.
Education & Experience
- Master’s or above degrees in Optics, Physics, Semiconductors, Materials Science or equivalent technical discipline.
- Min. 5 years working experience in complex manufacturing environment, experience on optics, laser design and simulation is preferred.
- Fiber Bragg Grating or pump laser manufacturing experience are preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualification & Requirements
- Proficient in semiconductor device physics, with capabilities in process development, testing analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Basic engineering knowledge is needed including electronics, mechanics and fiber optical communication areas etc.
- Basic statistical theory and methods are needed, such as statistical process control knowledge, gaussian distribution and testing hypothesis etc, familiar with FMEA, DOE and quality tools.
- Ability to easily and successfully work with employees and customers in a multi-cultural, global team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and complex issues involving external and internal priorities
- Excellence communication (verbal and written) skill in English is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
