The Retail Performance & Insights Assistant Manager strengthens the retail performance ecosystem through robust data management, business intelligence innovation, and meaningful performance insights. The role develops innovative AI-enabled BI solutions, practical analytical tools and insight support that help retail leaders (HOB/DHOB) improve efficiency in understanding business performance and planning for future, through accessible information and clear performance messages that support daily management and follow-up discussions.
Another key priority is to build up business capabilities of boutique teams to pilot their business more intentionally based on in depth KPI understanding to identify data driven insights & opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Business Intelligence Governance
- Own the maintenance, validation and continuous improvement of key retail performance datasets, including sales, traffic, client, product and boutique-level indicators, to ensure reliable and consistent reporting.
- Establish clear data checking routines and follow-up mechanisms to identify data gaps, inconsistencies or system issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with IT, Client, Merchandising, Finance, P&O and other related teams to align data definitions, governance standards and reporting logic across business functions.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce manual intervention, improve data sustainability and strengthen the efficiency of regular reporting preparation.
Advanced Business Analysis Solutions: BI Innovation & AI-enabled Tools
- Lead AI-enabled tools and methods to facilitate analysis, accelerate insight generation for both office and retail audience.
- Propose new reporting formats, content structure and analytical views in response to evolving business priorities and frontline needs.
- Support the design and enhancement of BI dashboards that improve visibility of boutique, client, product and retail KPI performance, enabling leaders to identify opportunities and risks more efficiently.
- Support HOBs and DHOBs in understanding performance trends and business drivers through BI tools, short guidance materials and ad hoc explanation when needed.
Retail business planning
- Contribute to key retail planning cycles, including but not limited to monthly target setting, yearly financial budgeting exercises, by preparing relevant template, assumptions and analytical inputs.
- Support monthly sales rolling forecast process and discussions, consolidating boutique assumptions, providing scenario simulations and forecasting insights.
- Develop forecasting and performance tracking tools that improve visibility of business trajectory, forecast accuracy and action follow-up at boutique or market level.
Retail Performance & Business Acumen Capabilities Building
- Prepare regular performance review materials, including competitor reports, Boutique ID performance, monthly business reviews and other management reports updates, with clear highlights on key trends and business implications.
- Support analysis across client, product and retail KPI, and connect key findings to potential business drivers such as traffic, conversion, client mix, product momentum or retail actions.
- Provide analytical support for diversified retail initiatives and projects, and to facilitate management and retail follow-up discussions. e.g FA performance review.
- Support Retail Performance manager in building Boutique teams business acumen & KPI piloting capabilities
Academic / Professional Qualifications
- University graduate, post graduate preferred.
Work Experience
- 7 years or above relevant experience in BI development, business analysis or related fields.
- Solid skills in Power BI, Excel and similar tools. Hands-on experience in data processing & management, dashboard development or reporting process improvement.
- Solid experience in business analytics, with ability to analyze KPIs across retail, client and product dimensions, identify key performance drivers and translate into clear business insights.
- Prior experience in retail, luxury, fashion, consumer goods or consulting environment is preferred.
