We are seeking to invite an experienced Construction Manager to lead the construction of electric vessels from keel laying to commissioning and hand over to our client. Leveraging your construction expertise in planning, shipyard management, QA/QC and commissioning, you will lead a multi-disciplinary site team, based at the shipyard, to deliver innovative electric vessels. We’re looking for someone with exceptional leadership skills, a maritime tech enthusiast with a strong drive to tackle complex challenges to accelerate the adoption of electric vessels.
Key REsponsibilities:
- Make good technical decisions and ensure that solutions are properly implemented. Overall responsibility of the construction and delivery of vessels across multiple shipyards. Ensure they are delivered in accordance with safety, schedule, quality and budget.
- Manage the project construction phases (construction, QA/QC, integration, commissioning, testing, lesson learnt and optimisation) at shipyards. This involves close monitoring / reporting of the delivery status against the project performance metrics
- Work with shipyards and stakeholders to continuously lower the vessel CAPEX.
- Periodic travel to Singapore and regional sites as required to carry out duties.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to drive progress and resolve issues through periodic internal and external meetings, workshop sessions, site visits etc.
- Responsible for managing all site related activities at the shipyard including the setup and supervision of the site team and contractors. Maintain high team morale at all times.
- Maintain strict compliance with QHSE standards set both internally and by the shipyard for all work carried out.
- Identify ways to improve design and construction methodologies to reduce cost and schedule.
- Prepare and submit weekly project progress report, include progress calculation & S Curve.
- Work closely with project stakeholders such as engineering contractors, OEMs, shipyard, Class, operators and local authorities to drive progress and resolve issues through regular meetings, workshop sessions, site visits and joint inspections etc.
- Lead troubleshooting during construction, mechanical completion and commissioning phase of the project with the shipyard.
- Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging technology, improvements and absorbing new practices from the market.

Requirements
- Diploma in a technical subject or degree qualified in a technical subject
- Good use of Word and Excel
- Good use of AutoCAD
- 12 to 15 years of relevant experience with construction and commissioning of small to medium sized vessels.
- Experience in electric vessels, vessel construction, outfitting, piping, automation, battery, electrical
- Able to write Progress Reports
- Able to prepare and update MS Project Schedule
