Job Objective
We are a leading technology hub in Guangzhou, dedicated to innovation and excellence in the tech industry. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated risk manager role with focus mainly on operational risk to strengthen DTC’s overall risk control resiliency. This role is pivotal in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing DTC’s operational risk framework, as well as ensuring stringent compliance with internal policies, processes and external regulations and providing continuous guidance and support to BU/SU on Risk/ LCS subjects.
Principal Responsibilities
Assist in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing DTC’s operational risk framework, including but not limited to:
- Responsible for implementation of corporate operational risk PSG within the unit.
- Responsible for development and implementation of unit-specific operational risk PSG and procedures.
- Review proposed deviations from corporate and unit-specific operational risk policies and standards and residual risk rating.
- Analyse and identify emerging trends and potential operational risks, including tracking and management reporting, e.g. Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk Indicator (KRI), pre-audit assessment.
- Run regular unit risk forum and attend group-level risk forum where required.
- Oversee Business Continuity Management (BCM) and incident management.
- Manage operational risk initiatives and target reviews.
- Proactive in forging effective engagement with key stakeholders on overall risk management and governance matters.
- Design and implement operational risk measures as part of DTC’s operational risk monitoring process.
- Review and update relevant policies/ standards/ procedures.
- Promote staff awareness, follow and track compulsory trainings and consequence management.
- Other risk management related work as assigned by manager.
This role would also provide certain support to LCS (Legal, Compliance & Secretariat) function where needed, including but not limited to:
- Identify, advise and manage legal/ regulatory risks associated with the operation of business and other related matters.
- Update relevant policies/ standards/ procedures/ documentations where needed.
Other LCS related work as assigned by manager.
Education and Relevant Experience
- Full-time bachelor degree holder (with law or risk management related major being a plus); master degree is preferred.
- Minimum 8-year experience in legal/ compliance or risk management domain.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in identifying, assessing, treating, monitoring, reporting, and advising on corporate risk management.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, interpersonal and operating skills to independently and effectively drive tasks.
- Experience in technology industry is an advantage.
Functional / Technical Competencies
- Strong written and oral communication skills (in both English and Chinese), analytical and solution-oriented.
- Profound knowledge of operational risk management requirements of China, in particular those applicable to IT business.
- Knowledge and experience in technology company operational risk management practice is an advantage.
- Strong ability to prioritize, self-motivated, independent and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to learn and take new challenges with an open-mind.
- Good inter-personal skills, good commercial sense and a team player.
