Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technicians and ensure company objectives are met
- Develop technician skill to meet individual and company requirement.
- Support plant facilities to ensure smooth operation
- Troubleshooting and maintaining all equipments that include facility. Perform engineering duties such as installation, operation, and maintenance all equipments.
- Safety protection and check. Ensure technician team meet all safety requirement.
- Undertakes effective configuration and performance control of production equipments
o Reviews manufacturing system/equipment performance and take corrective action with efficiency
o Reviews and follow up EH&S and Safety related to the equipment.
o Reviews SOPs and ISO 9001/14001 procedure
- Improve the performance of plant equipment
o Seeks and recommends improvement opportunities and set “SMART” objectives
o Pursues the continuous improvement opportunities with Kaizen and project/DMAIC management process
o Supports other improvement opportunities with teamwork and seeks supports from others if needed.
- Keeps pace with new technology and supports expansion. Design and make fixtures and tooling for operation.
- Manage all test equipment. Ensure all test equipment being calibrated on time.
- Energy management. Continues reduce cost and improve effectiveness.
- Support other manufacturing functions assigned by supervisor from time to time
- Spend time in assigned specific department coordinator’s work
- Work to comply company objectives and goals on Safety and EHS requirement, Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements)
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with prior team supervision experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with maintenance systems, work order management, and spare parts control.
Required Skills
- Solid knowledge of equipment mechanical
- Knowledge of equipment control.
- Familiar with VB, QB, C, parasol-II programming and PLC control.
- Familiar with process/quality/cost control and improvement tools
- Familiar with maintenance management and related tools such as 5S and TPM.
- Familiar with position related knowledge of ISO9000, ISO14001, and ISO18001.
- Familiar with fire-fighting system, waste gas treatment system and other facilities.
- Good written and oral English communication
- Good people skill with communication and coach.
Desired Skills
- Familiar with Kaizen and project/DMAIC management process
- Have some knowledge of IT system
- Have knowledge on fire protection and energy management.
- Knowledge of safety management.
- People management skill
