Northland Controls is looking for a Project Engineer to support the successful planning and delivery of security systems projects in Shanghai, China.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with early project coordination experience who is interested in developing into a Project Manager. You will work closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, clients, and internal teams to help keep projects organized, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
What You’ll Do

Support Project and Program Managers with project planning, coordination, documentation, and reporting.
- Coordinate project schedules, resources, equipment information, and supporting documentation.
- Work with clients and internal teams to clarify project requirements, scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Participate in client and site meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, action logs, and status reports.
- Track project progress, labor hours, expenses, and key milestones.
- Identify issues and potential project blockers and work with the project team to resolve them.
- Communicate project status and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support quality reviews to ensure project requirements, standards, and client expectations are met.
- Coordinate smaller project activities, including moves, additions, and changes.
- Prepare and submit project closeout documentation in accordance with client requirements and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in project coordination, field operations, engineering support, or project planning.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to develop and interpret project schedules, workflows, and step-by-step action plans.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Planner, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar project management and construction documentation tools is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and project delivery practices is preferred.
- Professional working proficiency in Mandarin and English would be beneficial for this role.
