POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Chiller Design & Integration: Lead the thermodynamic design, component selection, and system integration of Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chillers, with a specific focus on Danfoss Turbocor oil-free compressor technology.
Global Collaboration: Serve as the key technical bridge between the local team and the US G&D Chiller (Global Design) Chiller team to ensure alignment on global specifications and technology platforms.
Total Solution Synergy: Support the integration of the Chiller with CDU (Coolant Distribution Unit) and Fan Array systems to deliver a seamless "Total Solution" for high-density data centers.
Local Supplier & Tech Qualification: Supervise and qualify Chinese component suppliers (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, controls) to support local assembly and global compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Modeling & Simulation: Perform refrigerant cycle simulations, heat transfer calculations, and thermodynamic analyses to optimize chiller system performance (COP, IPLV/NPLV).
Danfoss Turbocor Application: Lead the selection, configuration, and control logic design for Danfoss Turbocor compressors. Establish optimal running parameters and envelope control algorithms.
Localization Leadership: Lead localization work to seamless cooperated with G&D Chiller engineering team to transform global specifications and technical data to ensure meeting customer requirements.
Testing & Validation: Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and prototype verification under performance standards.
Technical Support & Sourcing Assistance: Provide advanced technical guidance to Global Sourcing for qualifying core components (e.g., flooded/falling-film evaporators, variable speed drives).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: At least 5-8 years of experience in the design and development of large-scale water chillers, with a proven track record (at least 3 years) of hands-on project experience with Danfoss Turbocor (or equivalent magnetic bearing) compressor systems.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Refrigeration, Cryogenic Engineering, Thermal Energy Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep, practical knowledge of refrigeration cycle dynamics, and variable-speed centrifugal compressor systems.
- Proficient with thermodynamic simulation software (e.g., NIST Refprop, Aspen, or proprietary chiller selection tools).
Language: Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory for technical alignment with the US G&D Chiller Director and overseas engineering teams.
Software: Proficient in CAD software (Pro/E, Solidworks, UG), and thermal simulation/CFD tools.
Competence Requirement:
Leadership Competency: Strong Collaboration across global cultures, Strategic Thinking for product roadmaps, and Problem-Solving under tight project timelines.
Functional Competency: Excellence in Thermodynamic Analysis, Chiller Control Logic Development, and Supplier Technical Auditing.
