You will participate in the research, development, and deployment of advanced AI algorithms and LLM applications while collaborating with a distributed team to ensure high-quality delivery. Make an impact that matters at ABB!
You will be mainly accountable for:
-
Participate in developing industrial AI algorithms (e.g., predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, process optimization) and support deployment on automation platforms and edge devices.
-
Assist in developing and optimizing control algorithms, integrating AI models with industrial equipment such as PLCs and sensors.
-
Build and maintain industrial data processing pipelines — from data acquisition, cleaning, feature engineering to model training and inference.
-
Explore industrial AI Agent development for autonomous decision-making and adaptive control in industrial workflows.
-
Support algorithm productization, including model compression, edge inference optimization, and performance tuning based on field feedback.
-
Explore industrial vision and multi-modal AI applications for quality inspection and equipment monitoring.
-
Support on-site commissioning and algorithm validation in real industrial environments (occasional travel required), iterating solutions based on operational data.
-
Write and maintain technical documents, including algorithm design specs, API documentation, and deployment guides.
-
Collaborate with application teams to align on requirements and ensure solution delivery.
Qualifications for the role:
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields. Fresh graduates welcome.
-
Proficient in Python and Linux; solid foundation in machine learning, deep learning, signal processing, or control theory.
-
Experience with industrial data pipelines (time-series processing, feature engineering) and model deployment preferred.
-
Knowledge of PLCs, industrial control systems, or fieldbus protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA) is a plus.
-
Familiarity with machine vision, multi-modal AI, or AI Agent frameworks in industrial contexts is a plus.
-
Strong technical writing skills; able to produce clear, structured documentation.
-
Self-driven and proactive; passionate about tracking cutting-edge developments in industrial AI and translating them into practical solutions.
-
Good English reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
