State Street is seeking a highly motivated AWS Federated Cloud Platform Engineer. This role is responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and operational support of the enterprise AWS Federated Landing Zone platform especailly on AWS compute related services. The engineer will work closely with cloud architects, security teams, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and automated cloud services that enable application onboarding and cloud adoption across the organization.
The successful candidate will contribute to platform engineering, infrastructure automation, developer experience improvements, security and compliance initiatives while maintaining high standards of engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Development
Design, develop, test, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
Build and enhance AWS Federated Landing Zone services, reusable Terraform modules, and self-service cloud capabilities.
Develop automation solutions for cloud provisioning, monitoring, security controls, and operational processes.
Create and maintain reusable cloud patterns and templates for application teams.
Integrate AWS services with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, CyberArk, HashiCorp Vault, monitoring systems, and developer platforms.
Contribute to developer experience improvements through automation, documentation, self-service capabilities, and portal enhancements.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards and secure coding practices.
2. Engineering Excellence
Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platform solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Improve platform reliability, maintainability, observability, and automation maturity.
Drive Infrastructure as Code best practices, CI/CD improvements, and cloud engineering standards.
Implement cloud security, governance, and compliance controls as part of platform services.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and drive long-term corrective actions.
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
3. Production Support & Stability
Provide Level 4 engineering support for AWS Federated Landing Zone services and platform components.
Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and automation issues.
Support production incidents, service requests, and problem management activities.
Monitor platform health, performance, and operational metrics.
Participate in on-call major incident support when required.
Support platform releases, upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management activities.
Ensure service availability, operational stability, and SLA compliance through proactive monitoring and automation.
4. Collaboration
Collaborate with cloud architects, security teams, risk and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards.
Work closely with global engineering teams to deliver platform enhancements and resolve technical challenges.
Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical forums.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
3+ years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as: IAM/EC2/ECS/EKS/VPC/Route53/ALB/NLB/CloudWatch/S3/KMS/Lambda
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Linux administration and cloud networking fundamentals.
Experience with source control platforms such as Git.
Familiarity with security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
6. Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional certification.
Experience building or supporting AWS Landing Zone or multi-account cloud platforms.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, ServiceNow, Splunk, or similar enterprise platforms.
Experience with cloud security controls, CIS benchmarks, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Familiarity with FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise cloud environments.
Experience supporting financial services or highly regulated environments.
Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
