We are seeking a highly motivated, analytically sharp, and AI-native intern to join our Online Marketing team as an Online Marketing AI Specialist. You will work alongside online marketing channel managers, with a focus spanning both traditional search channels (SEO/SEM) and emerging AI-powered search and discovery ecosystems — including Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You will leverage AI capabilities to design and execute channel optimization experiments, surface data-driven insights, and help drive measurable improvements in seller acquisition efficiency and channel performance.
Key job responsibilities
Partnering with online marketing channel managers, you will:
Channel Expansion & Optimization: Research, evaluate, and optimize online marketing channels to drive seller acquisition — spanning traditional search (SEO/SEM), social platforms, and emerging AI-powered discovery channels
AI Search & GEO Strategy: Explore the evolving landscape of AI search engines (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) and develop Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies to improve brand visibility and organic traffic in AI-generated results
SEO/SEM Performance Optimization: Analyze search channel performance data, identify keyword and bidding opportunities, and deliver actionable insights to improve cost-efficiency and conversion rates across paid and organic search
Experimentation & Testing: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and channel experiments using AI-powered methodologies — from hypothesis generation to result interpretation and optimization recommendations
AI-Powered Workflow Automation: Leverage generative AI and automation tools to scale content production, streamline campaign operations, and accelerate insight generation across marketing channels
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product marketing, analytics, and sales teams to align channel strategies with broader go-to-market initiatives and seller growth objectives
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Mandarin
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or higher degree program, with expected graduation between Dec 2026 and Aug 2027
- Majoring in digital marketing, computer science, information technology, data science, or a closely related field
- Available to work 4–5 days per week for a minimum of 6 months, on-site in Shanghai
- Meet at least one of the following: (a) prior internship experience in digital marketing, SEO/SEM, or performance marketing; (b) demonstrated strong AI capability through personal projects, competitions, open-source contributions, or published content (e.g., AI-powered tools, bots, workflow automations, or technical blog posts)
- Demonstrated analytical ability — comfortable working with data to derive marketing insights and inform decisions
- Strong English proficiency for professional communication and content creation
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
- Hands-on internship experience in digital marketing, SEO/SEM, paid media, or growth-related roles with measurable outcomes
- A portfolio or demonstrable cases of applying AI to solve real problems — such as building AI agents, automating workflows, prompt engineering projects, or winning AI hackathons
- Familiarity with AI search ecosystems and emerging concepts such as Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), AI Overviews, or conversational search
- Proficiency in data tools or programming (e.g., Python, SQL, Google Analytics) for marketing analysis or automation
- Understanding of e-commerce dynamics, cross-border trade, or online seller acquisition funnels
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver quality work under time constraints
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program is a plus
