Overall Function
The Project Manager is responsible for execution of global Cleaner Refining projects where equipment fabrication, repair or refurbishment, is fabricated or sourced through Asia-based suppliers. This role supports global CR projects and works closely with project management, engineering, procurement, quality / inspection, product management, and regional teams to help ensure vendor work is executed safely, accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with customer, code, and Elessent requirements.

Direct reporting to the Director of Execution (based in the US) with dotted-line / functional direction from local sales management.
Job Description
This role is primarily focused on supporting the Cleaner Refining business (including the STRATCO® alkylation, IsoTherming® hydroprocessing and BELCO® wet gas scrubbing technologies) for projects involving Asia-based suppliers or CR business customers in Asia.
- Provide vendor-facing project coordination for new equipment, repair, refurbishment, and aftermarket fabrication projects, including project tracking, document follow-up, supplier coordination, and interface with Elessent’s internal inspection team.
- Review customer specifications and assist with preparing proposals for equipment refurbishment and technical descriptions for sales agreements. Work with design teams on proprietary equipment, including high pressure, high temperature reactors, pumps, and auxiliary piping and peripheral components.
- Coordinate supplier activities on equipment projects, including the design clarification, scope alignment, schedule, quality documentation, and technical questions and escalation of supplier issues.
- Support supplier qualification, vendor capability reviews, corrective action follow-up, and vendor performance tracking for Asia-based suppliers.
- Provide on-site technical support related to proprietary equipment, especially concerning maintenance, reliability, and mechanical integrity issues.
- Support engineering, product management, and execution teams with vendor input related to design improvements, metallurgical upgrades, product stewardship, quality requirements, and supplier capability.
- Support CR business customer needs in Asia, including projects executed outside Asia, by maintaining awareness of customer requirements, regional priorities, schedule impacts, and coordination needs across global execution team.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics on vendor readiness, packing, shipping documentation, export requirements, and delivery timing where applicable.
- Support planning for locally sourced spare parts, replacement components, and fabricated items based on project needs, customer demand, and business projections.
- Support delivery of multiple assigned projects with schedule discipline, vendor follow-up, cost awareness, and early escalation of changes, rework, delays, or supplier-driven margin risks.
- Support accurate project tracking in Epicor ERP by entering updates directly when assigned or coordinating with the internal project engineer on milestone status, vendor receipts, forecast inputs, revenue recognition timing, schedule impacts, risks, and closeout items.
- Support execution leadership with vendor performance visibility, project status reporting, lessons learned, and continuous improvement of Asia-based fabrication and supplier execution.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication, vendor management, supplier coordination, expediting and engineered equipment execution strongly preferred
- Experience working with international project teams and global customers preferred
- Familiarity with welding documentation, NDE records, material certifications, hydrotest documentation, NCRs, ITPs, and final data books preferred.
- Ability to understand basic mechanical equipment scopes, drawings/specifications, supplier quotations, customer requirements, and repair/refurbishment terminology.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong technical-commercial judgment and ability to identify when escalation is required.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work across time zones with regional sales, product management, engineering, suppliers, and execution teams.
