We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our Regulatory, Contract & Inbound Customs Compliance team. Based in Shanghai, this role will serve as the primary support resource for Asia-based stakeholders, acting as the regional extension of our North America compliance functions. The Associate will provide support across Regulatory & Contract Compliance and Inbound Customs Compliance activities, ensuring timely issue resolution, operational efficiency, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
This position will work closely with Commercial, Operations, Legal, Procurement, and external partners to support supplier onboarding, contract administration, customs compliance, vendor management, and cross-functional business initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regulatory & Contract Compliance

Assist in the creation, administration, and maintenance of contracts supporting CastleGate services and supplier relationships.
- Support contract lifecycle management activities, including contract reviews, documentation management, compliance tracking, and issue resolution.
- Help ensure business activities and contractual agreements align with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance standards.
- Support regulatory reviews, risk assessments, and compliance documentation as required.
- Partner with Legal, Commercial, Procurement, and Operations teams to address contract-related inquiries and resolve compliance concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to contract status, key milestones, compliance obligations, and operational metrics.
Inbound Customs Compliance

Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers, commercial teams, and operations teams regarding customs-related inquiries and issue resolution.
- Assist with customs broker onboarding, vendor management, procurement activities, performance monitoring, and KPI reporting.
- Coordinate resolution of customs clearance issues, documentation discrepancies, shipment delays, and compliance-related concerns.
- Support supplier onboarding activities by providing guidance on import documentation requirements and customs compliance expectations.
- Monitor shipment compliance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Asia Regional Support

Serve as the primary Asia-based support resource for Regulatory, Contract & Inbound Customs Compliance activities.
- Provide timely support to Asia-based Commercial and Operations teams during regional business hours.
- Coordinate with North America-based compliance teams to escalate complex issues and ensure alignment on compliance decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the Asia region.
- Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external partners to ensure business continuity and successful issue resolution.

- Experience with tariff management, vendor management, procurement processes, or performance management metrics is a plus.

- Support special projects and broader business initiatives as assigned.
- Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Attend meetings and conference calls outside traditional local business hours as required to support global stakeholders.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and verbal).
- Experience supporting compliance, customs, logistics, supply chain, procurement, contract administration, or related business functions preferred.
- NVOCC, Ocean Carrier, Customs Brokerage, or Global Trade experience is a plus.
