The Electrical Engineer, based in Shanghai, will be responsible for the design, specification, and technical oversight of the Electrical Generation, Distribution, and Utilization systems for our FPSO and FSO vessels. This role requires technical expertise to ensure all electrical systems are safe, reliable, and compliant with international standards and classification rules throughout the project lifecycle, with a specific focus on supporting fabrication and vendor management in the Asia-Pacific region.

- Design and engineer the entire electrical system, including power generation (e.g., turbo-generators, diesel generators), medium and low voltage distribution networks, and protection schemes.
- Perform detailed electrical studies, including short circuit calculations, load flow analysis, transient stability analysis, motor starting studies, and arc flash analysis, using industry-standard software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Prepare key electrical diagrams, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, and layouts for equipment and cable routing.
- Develop and review detailed Technical Specifications and Datasheets for major electrical equipment, such as switchboards (MV/LV), transformers, generators, UPS systems, motors, and lighting systems.
- Engage in technical evaluations of vendor bids and manage interface clarifications with suppliers, particularly those based in China and the wider APAC region.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant international codes (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEMA) and Classification Society rules (DNV, ABS) for offshore and hazardous area environments.
- Define requirements for hazardous area classifications (e.g., ATEX, IECEx) and select appropriate equipment.
- Provide direct technical support and clarification to fabrication yards and construction teams, ensuring the installation of electrical systems adheres to design specifications and quality standards.
- Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and site commissioning activities for major electrical packages.
- Review and approve vendor drawings and technical submissions for electrical packages.QHSSE Duties – every employee shall:

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, with a strong focus on power generation and distribution systems in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry (FPSO, platforms, or marine vessels).
- Proven experience supporting the fabrication and installation phases of large-scale marine/offshore projects, working closely with shipyards or EPC contractors.
- Expert proficiency in electrical analysis software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent, for power system modeling and studies.
- Deep knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), variable speed drives (VSDs), and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
- Strong working knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations for hazardous areas (e.g., ATEX/IECEx).
