Responsibilities
Use lean techniques and tools in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling for medical devices to enable new products to be successfully transferred to mass production.
Participate in and contribute to the DFM and PFMEA processes to ensure that new products are robust for manufacture & assembly.
Perform process verification and validation trials to determine and evaluate process repeatability & stability for new products.
Develop work instructions, process flow layouts, and carry out operator training as and when required.
Provide visibility to Snr NPI Engineer of any H&S and technical issues that could inhibit mass production and escalate any other issues as appropriate.
Oversee and lead the requirements for any sample builds to ensure product quality, yield, and cycle times are within expectations.
Coordinate and facilitate production readiness reviews in line with Quasar’s NPI process.
Any other tasks assigned by the NPI Team Leader.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or a related subject.
3 years’ experience of launching new products into manufacture.
Good understanding of the use of lean and quality tools in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Teams platforms/packages.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, analytical, and lateral thinking skills.
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, as used in medical products, would be advantageous.
Excellent level of English, both reading and writing.
