Lead and enhance failure & material analysis capabilities in Chengdu Lab, providing technical leadership to streamline processes and develop world-class analysis expertise.
What You Will Do
1) Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Failure Analysis engineers and technicians.
2) Set clear performance expectations and objectives for team members; conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews to drive accountability and development.
3) Deeply collaborate with PDE and PTE team to develop FA plan and be responsible of analysis and interpretation.
4) Execute agilely FA process including failure model confirmation and following up of E8D process leveraging in-house capabilities and external resources when needed.
5) Lead onboarding, technical training, and mentoring of new engineers and technicians to ensure rapid competence and alignment with lab standards.
6) Foster a collaborative, professional, and results-driven team culture with strong ownership of quality and technical excellence.
7) Represent the Failure Analysis function in cross-functional forums, driving alignment and technical decision-making.
8) Develop, optimize, and standardize failure analysis and material analysis methods.
9) Identify improvement opportunities and lead cross-functional improvement projects.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
1) University Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Material, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent, and above.
2) Minimum 6-8 years of experience in failure analysis, material analysis, reliability, quality, or manufacturing engineering. Proven experience handling complex failure mechanisms and customer quality issues.
3) Expert-level knowledge of failure analysis and material analysis methodologies.
4) Strong hands-on and theoretical knowledge of analytical tools and recognized experiences.
5) Strong problem-solving capability with structured approaches (8D, RCA, DOE).
6) Ability to independently drive complex technical investigations and make sound judgments.
7) Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
8) Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (written and verbal).
9) Strong presentation and customer-facing capability.
