Principal responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise Jenkins pipelines (Pipeline-as-Code) for build, test, security scanning, and deployments.
- Own Jenkins administration and maintenance: upgrades, plugin governance, credential management, node/agent management, backups, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy) to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Implement and support CI/CD integrations with AWS services (e.g., IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, ECR/ECS/EKS, Lambda—depending on the stack).
- Manage and support Linux environments used by build agents and tooling (hardening, patching, package management, logs, permissions).
- Improve reliability and observability of pipelines and Jenkins infrastructure (monitoring, alerting, metrics, log analysis).
- Standardise reusable pipeline libraries, templates, and best practices across teams.
- Drive secure-by-default delivery: secrets handling, least-privilege access, auditability, and compliance-friendly controls.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot build/deploy issues and improve developer experience.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing.
Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins:

Declarative/Scripted pipelines, shared libraries, agents/executors

Jenkins administration (plugins, upgrades, RBAC, credentials, backups)
- Solid AWS experience supporting CI/CD and deployments (IAM and networking fundamentals included).
- Strong Linux administration skills (shell, system services, permissions, troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (Bash + one of Python/Groovy preferred).
- Experience integrating CI/CD with source control (e.g., Git) and artefact repositories.
- Practical understanding of SDLC, branching strategies, and release management.
