Aufgaben

China is the biggest passenger car market for Mercedes-Benz. In Mercedes-Benz R&D China. We strive to provide China-fit ADAS/AD products through advanced technologies to our Chinese customers. We are currently looking for talent who share the same passion and enthusiasm for developing a China-fit ADAS/AD system onboard and offboard.

We are seeking a highly qualified AD Backend Product Owner to take the lead in designing, developing, and optimizing core backend services for our autonomous driving (AD) system. You will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of critical backend products, including ODD (Operational Design Domain) control service for L2 and L3 levels, AD system activation services, data analytics enabling services, and regulatory compliance fulfillment, etc. This role requires strong product awareness and the ability to leverage AI technologies to deliver cloud-based solutions, along with close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as AD customer function team, map navigation team, data scientists and legal teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and compliance of backend services that underpin the safe and efficient operation of our autonomous driving solutions.

Qualifikationen

Education

Bachelor degree or above in fields such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience

5+ years of experience in autonomous driving (AD) industry with at least 3+ years of proven experience in backend product design and development
At least 1 case of proven experience to apply AI/ML technologies in backend or data collection related product

Specific knowledge

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Tencent Cloud, Volcano Cloud, Alibaba Cloud) in the context of autonomous driving.
Proficient in backend development languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python) and frameworks, with a deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
Familiar with ODD (Operational Design Domain), map service, remote data collection concepts and L2/L3 autonomous driving system architectures, with hands-on experience in designing or developing ODD, map, data collection -related backend services preferred.
Proficient in popular cloud-native products and middleware (e.g., Kafka, Database, Redis, Kubernetes)
Experience applying AI/ML technologies (e.g., LLM, predictive analytics) to build intelligent cloud-based services.
Strong product mindset — ability to define product roadmap, prioritize features based on business value, and drive products from concept to delivery.
Experience in developing data-related backend services (data collection, processing, analytics) for large-scale systems is a plus.
Understanding autonomous driving data related regulations and compliance requirements (local or international) is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills, technical leadership, and the ability to drive complex technical projects from concept to implementation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
Self-motivated, result oriented.
Fluent English language skills
Willingness to travel inside China and abroad
