Job Summary

Driving business targets of the SME Banking ME segment. Keep abreast with SME Banking market developments to achieve better customer service and sharpened sales focus.
To acquiring new client relationships to grow the ME segment business and deepen existing client relationships meeting ME segment definitions.
In line with the commitment to serve SME segment by supporting their high-quality development needs, SME department will continue to extend the coverage of financial services, uplift comprehensive financial service capabilities for SMEs, as well as provide one-bank financial solution to support SMEs’ whole life cycle growth (from start-up to cross-border expansion).

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Business

Achieve individual financial and non-financial targets while contributing towards team’s overall deliverables through:
Effectively generating new business – identify prospects and convert in line with the Bank’s appetite.
Strategically formulating account plan – provide clients’ needs-based solutions, structure appropriate credit facility, and execute various banking transactions.
Proactively building trusted client relationships – maintain a portfolio of active and growing customers.
For the scenarios that will trigger Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), please refer to the SME Banking Sales Productivity Management Mechanism and the local performance/productivity requirements setup by regional/city management per region/city business strategies.
Build and expand existing client relationships through pro-active contact, account planning, wallet sizing and effective pipeline management.
Identify and prioritize activities to maximize revenue contribution from allocated client portfolio.
Consult and recommend strategies where account management or recovery is needed on problem accounts, assisting credit in identifying sources from minimizing loan losses.
Work effectively across geographic borders with customers to deepen relationships with the Bank.
Generate creative ideas on customer acquisition and products/ services.
To provide one-stop service to SME banking ME segment clients with flexible financial solutions, multi-channel servicing and cross-border capabilities, including commercializing business opportunities of cash management solution, supply chain management, cross-border proposition and working capital financing.
To collaborate with CCIB/Affluent to provide total solution to growing enterprise.
Keep abreast of SME banking market in term of products and services across markets and among competitors, to support the SME Banking in driving key products and/or service.
Assist CPMS product sales to provide relevant service (including. FX forward, Structured Deposit and other etc.) to SME banking ME segment clients based on their needs.

Responsible for identifying the business monitoring and testing and reporting findings, exceptions, and results from monitoring/testing activities.
To monitor and ensure strict execution of KYC policy within the SME Banking.
To constantly operate within the compliance’s guidelines set by group standard and/or local regulations.

People & Talent

Perform professionally as a team player to lead, co-work, or support in all SME Banking related initiatives.
Enhance & multiply the quality & depth of direct reports in SME Banking family.
Drive performance through clear objectives via scorecards, KPIs.

Risk Management

Ensure effective and efficient operations without sacrifice on control and service quality. Continually look at opportunities for process improvements.
Work effectively across SCB, using values behaviours to drive sustainable business growth.
Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies (including anti-money laundering, sanction, anti-bribery & corruption and relevant FCC risks) and the Group Code of Conduct

Compliance & Control

Ensure strict compliance with all regulations and controls as set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities by all staff.
Contribute towards achieving and maintaining satisfactory audit rating.
Contribute towards ensuring that the value stream is fit for growth and have effective controls framework.
Fully understand the importance of fraud prevention, prevent fraud risks, maintain safe and steady operation of the position, implement regulatory requirements of fraud prevention, strictly execute DOIs of the department, ensure to complete relevant trainings and embed fraud prevention in daily work.”

Be responsible ensuring strict execution of AML CDD/Sanction policy when onboarding clients and client management during client life cycle with SCB.
Timely perform all CDD reviews ensuring no overdue and/or hard hold
Accountable for implementing and complying with AML CDD/Sanction requirements when performing duties:
Ensure timely escalation of suspected or known transactions which are in breach of Group policy and procedures or local regulatory requirements.
Full compliance with AML CDD/Sanction related policy and procedures of Group, Country and local regulatory when performing BAU tasks.
To comply with all compliance requirements with high alertness to MLP procedures and take the lead at all times to be alert to unusual or possibly suspicious customer activity and must report/escalate up on any suspicious transaction.

Qualifications

University degree in Finance or related discipline is preferred.
Minimum 8 years of similar frontline experience in SME / Commercial Banking with other banks in China.
Having prior experience of onboarding clients with STO > USD25mil.
Knowledge of trade finance products, treasury and transaction management, cross-border financing preferred.
Knowledge of SME ME segment client offerings and market / competitive landscape in the SME upper space.
Strong business understanding, credit risk analysis and financial knowledge.
Strong inter-personal skills and client relationship management experience.
Experience in prospecting, client pitching, sales and account planning.
Knowledge of processes related to client acquisition, privacy, regulatory compliance, KYC and CDD.
Experience in selling to corporate customers, specifically to small and medium enterprises (SME) preferred.
Good marketing, communication, and interpersonal skill preferred.
Willing to work under pressure.
Proactive, positive attitude, customer oriented, self-motivated & a strong champion of teamwork spirit.
Good command in written English preferred
