Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our client, a cutting-edge Web3 company focused on delivering high-performance, scalable, and secure blockchain solutions. In this onsite role—based in Shenzhen or Shanghai, with a strong preference for Shenzhen—you will architect and maintain the backend systems that power the platform, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and reliability.
A senior-level background is ideal, as the position involves rigorous technical vetting, full ownership of backend initiatives, and end-to-end project responsibility. You should be comfortable with a startup mindset—whether demonstrated through significant personal side projects or leading projects from inception to deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems with a focus on scalability and security.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for seamless service deployment.
Write efficient, maintainable backend code to handle data requests and core business logic.
Monitor and improve system performance, addressing bottlenecks in both architecture and code.
Work in tandem with frontend engineers to ensure smooth integration between backend services and user interfaces.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
Strong understanding of RESTful API design, development best practices, and coding standards.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
Experience with database design and management (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD processes, including continuous integration and automated testing.
Understanding of microservices architecture, serverless computing, and distributed systems.
Awareness of backend security practices, encompassing encryption, authentication, and data protection.
Ability to organize complex projects, meet tight deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to operate in American time zones as needed and travel to the U.S. if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with blockchain technologies or the broader Web3 ecosystem.
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Exposure to monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience using CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.).
Understanding of privacy-preserving technologies (zk-SNARKs, zk-Rollups).
