We are seeking a versatile, hands-on Production Test Engineer to join our Test Engineering team. In this role, you will focus on sustaining, enhancing, and optimizing existing automated test systems throughout their lifecycle. Responsibilities include updating test system capabilities, updating hardware and software components, improving reliability and throughput, and providing integration and directed production support. You will ensure that our test platforms continue to deliver robust functionality, accurate parametric measurements for test and reliability validation related to complex electronic products. Conduct design experiments and develop innovative solutions to improve test performance and reliability. Requires a solid understanding of product characteristics and applied test methodologies
Job Responsibilities:
Ø Collaborate with design teams to develop product test plans and specifications
Ø Design and develop test equipment, interface boards, and custom signal conditioning circuits for production environment
Ø Support and enhance existing test automation software, including instrument control, test sequencing, data acquisition, and results logging, to ensure ongoing reliability, performance, and maintainability
Ø Analyze production test data to identify yield issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement
Ø Provide ongoing technical support, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for deployed test platforms
Ø Cooperation with global cross-functional teams (CFT) to ensure successful transfer of new products to mass production
Ø Support operation teams in optimizing test processes, first pass yields and test time
Ø Integrate test systems with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and factory IT infrastructure
Ø Work with external vendors and suppliers for test equipment, components, and services
Ø Develop and execute validation plans to ensure test equipment accuracy, repeatability, and measurement system analysis (including Gauge R&R)
Ø Train technicians and engineers on test system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Ø Create and maintain documentation, including test procedures, specifications, schematics, and user manuals
Position Requirements:
Ø Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Ø 3+ years of experience supporting and developing automated test equipment or hardware-software integrated test systems.
Ø Knowledge of various communication protocols used in test systems (GPIB, Ethernet, USB, Serial, PXI).
Ø 3+ years of experience with test instrumentation (e.g. VNA, power meter, signal generator, device programmer)
Ø Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals (analog and digital circuits, signal integrity, measurement techniques)
Ø Excellent communication and documentation skills. Fluency in English for technical documentation
Ø Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Ø 3+ years of experience in at least one test development language: Python, LabVIEW, or C#/.NET
Ø Familiar with industrial automation technologies (e.g. PLC, motion control, vision systems).
Ø Familiar with manufacturing test processes, statistical process control (SPC), and test data management.
