ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Operations & Sourcing Assistant based in Shenzhen to support our China operations. You will act as the local point of contact between our international leadership team and Chinese manufacturers, suppliers, and logistics partners. This is a hands-on role with direct impact on product development and supply chain performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source manufacturers, suppliers, and products based on project briefs from the leadership team
- Contact factories, request quotes, samples, and product specifications
- Translate and facilitate communication between international teams and Chinese suppliers
- Conduct or coordinate factory visits and quality checks in the Guangdong region
- Prepare sourcing reports, price comparisons, and supplier evaluation summaries
- Follow up on orders, samples, and delivery timelines
- Manage logistics coordination and liaise with freight forwarders when needed
- Support general day-to-day operations for the China office
- Communicate across multiple time zones (Europe, North Africa, Southeast Asia)
REQUIREMENTS
- Chinese native speaker (Mandarin required)
- Fluent in English and/or French — written and spoken (minimum B2 level)
- Based in Shenzhen or surrounding area
- 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, operations, trading, or import/export
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with suppliers
- Highly organized, autonomous, and reliable
- Comfortable with digital tools: email, spreadsheets, WhatsApp, WeChat
- Experience in e-commerce, beauty, wellness, or consumer goods is a strong plus
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with sourcing platforms: Alibaba, 1688, Made-in-China
- Knowledge of the Guangdong manufacturing ecosystem (Guangzhou, Dongguan, Yiwu)
- Experience working with international or multicultural teams
- Basic understanding of incoterms, customs clearance, and shipping processes
- Cantonese is a plus
