DescriptionLaird™ Technologies, a Qnity™ business, has an opening for an Asia-Pacific (AP) Product Specialist to join the Thermal Management team. The Thermal Management organization delivers thermal solutions across various markets including aerospace, automotive, consumer, datacenter, industrial and telecom/datacom segments. The Laird™ thermal product portfolio includes a broad set of Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs) from liquid dispensed and sheet-based gap fillers, thermal greases and gels, phase change materials and electrically insulating films.
The Product Specialist will serve as a product expert for the thermal product line, driving adoption, success and profitability. The Product Specialist will lead key business and portfolio initiatives – including pricing& quoting, manufacturing location and raw material changes, supporting product launch packages, creating marketing collateral, and serving as a bridge between our customers, commercial organization and technology teams. This individual will work closely with Procurement, R, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial organization.
The ideal candidate will have a heavy bias for action, strong project management and communication skills, and a balanced technical and financial acumen. A can-do attitude and willingness to take on new challenges are also needed for this role.
Job Description (Functional Responsibilities): • Manage product lines within thermal portfolio as required to ensure accurate costing, support quoting processes as required, conduct margin and pricing analysis.• Partner with R throughout the product development process and serve as a cross-functional team member that removes barriers and supports our product launch process.• Serve as a product line expert for the AP region, facilitating product information and data sharing between technology and commercial organizations.• Collaborate closely with regional Product Managers to drive growth within the AP region.• Lead raw material change projects. Partner with procurement to analyze, identify, and drive raw material cost reduction initiatives.• Lead localization / location-change projects by working with cross-functional teams.• Collaborate with Communications team to create and maintain effective marketing collateral, advertising campaigns, sales tools, and trade show engagement.• Serve as a key team member of a global Product Management and Marketing Organization, collaborating closely on various initiatives with team members across the world.
Qualifications (Knowledge& Experience)• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering is required• 3+ years of proven experience in product line management, project management, business development or marketing roles is preferred• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of global business practices is preferred• Experience leading project teams and managing complex projects is desired• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong cross functional relationships with business leaders, sales, customer service, engineering, finance, supply chain, and operations teams• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both oral and written) at all levels• Proficient in English as second language (ESL)• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Highly skilled in negotiation and influence management.• Demonstrated strong analytical skills, and ability to turn data into business insights and provide recommendations• Proficiency in ERP system is a strong plus
Job InformationThis position may be done remotely, but there is a preference for the successful applicant to be located in the Shanghai region. The successful applicant will join a global team of Product Managers, all of whom support the Thermal Management portfolio. The applicant will report to the Thermal Management Product Director, with dotted line reporting to our AP regional Product managers and collaborate across all functions within the Laird™ business. This role will require approximately 15% travel.
