KITE Search are working with a global, award-winning firm with a legacy of building creative solutions for clients through the delivery of architecture, interior design, landscape, planning, strategy, and other consulting services.
With more than 5 offices across Asia (11 globally) they are one of the leading design studios in the region, respected for their approach to design and ability to deliver exciting projects. As the business grows across the region a Director is needed to head up the Planning and Landscape business. Based in the Shanghai studio you will oversee, mentor and grow a Planning & Landscape team whilst leading from the front in terms of business development.
As a Director in the business you will work with the other leaders in the region working with the Global Director of Planning & Landcape to develop and build opportunties in the region.
Responsibilities
- A leader for business development in urban planning and landscape in China.
- Review and direct daily operations and management of the Planning & Landscape team.
- Work with and support project managers in terms of project operations, financial performance and staffing.
- Work with and support project designers in terms of project concepts, designs, quality control, design deliverables etc
- Prepare monthly fee and staffing forecasts
- Oversee staffing requirements and interview, hire and train new employees.
- Monitor project budgets and profitability.
- Take responsibility for quality control of project deliverables.
- Define new processes and techniques to improve efficiency, productivity and team profitability.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other studios globally
- Presentat at client, investor and consultant meetings
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Urban Planning or Landscape.
- Strong business development capability in Urban Planning or Landscape.
- Minimum 11+ years of design and management experience in Planning & Landscape projects.
- International experience is a must – Asia, and specifically China experience is a plus.
- Fluent Mandarin as client communication is essential
- Strong design presentation and client management skills.
- Strength in formulating design concepts and narratives for projects.
- Responsible, hardworking and self-motivated.
