They should communicate to BDM and sales team for new product design-in, product manager about technical during product life time; cooperate with CD product design engineer s both in CD or the other design center for collaboration projects and operation support projects ;
T ooling design engineer, process engineer and automation engineer for manufacturing feasibility review in both NPD projects and sustaining projects. ;
P roject manager for design time, BOM and technical risk and barrier ;
AQP / MQA / Production engineer for quality, problem solving, measurement plan, product requirement ;
S ourcing, purchasing, SQE and IQC for any purchasing material review.
External:
C ustomer for technical review .
Supplier to review product function, manufacturing feasibility;
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
1• New opportunity design-in
2• NPI project development.
3• Commercialization project engineering support.
4• Build relationship with customer core team
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collect and interpret customer design requirements from Customer communication or specifications.
2. Review Requirements (drawing, model and standard...), feasibility assessment, and any exceptions with the Product Development Team (PDT) to gain Approval.
3. Technical discussion with customer regarding the design feasibility and primary test plan.
4. Perform design verification activities including tolerance analysis, FEA, SLA and patent investigation.
5. Release ok to tool drawings and models for tooling design and development.
6. Cooperate with CD design engineer for product validation test and documentation release.
7. Provide training to customer and other Molex engineering personnel as assigned by the Product Development Manager.
8. Provide design support for product modifications and/or extensions.
9. Respond to customer complaints on design related issues.
SCOPE:
The job is to focus on execution job;
Clearly interpret customer technical requirements to CD Product Development Team, Engineering risk assessment, create 3Dmodel and 2D drawing, engineering checkpoints, testing plan per PDP process;
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED:
- University Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, and above.
PREFERRED:
REQUIRED:
1. Good knowledge of product design process.
2. At least 5 year of product design experience at connector company for automotive industry or Automotive tier 1 including device maker and harness maker.
3. Understand with automotive connector industry (basic knowledge, industry standard, OEM requirement)
4. Be willing to travel to customers and other Molex locations frequently as needed.
5. Able to communicate (reading, writing) in English;
PREFERRED:
- Good communication skill with customer for technical requirements

3. CAD Software for drafting and modelling ;
4. Connector design and manufacturing technologies;

6. Design problem solving skills - 8D, DFMEA, Tolerance Analysis.
