About this opportunity:
Join BNEW RTE RP CD SW2 Software 2 as a Software/Automation Intern and support our R&D team in Chengdu in developing and improving software tools, test automation and CI/CD workflows. This role is ideal for a student who wants hands-on experience in a global telecom environment and is eager to learn modern software engineering ways of working.
What you will do:

Support software development and automation tasks (e.g. scripts, small features, tooling improvements) under guidance of senior engineers

Help maintain and improve internal tools, test scripts and pipelines (CI/CD)

Execute and automate test cases, help analyze issues and support troubleshooting

Assist with basic documentation, version control and code quality routines

Collaborate closely with team members in Chengdu and other locations, communicating progress and issues in a clear and timely manner
The skills you bring:

Bachelor or Master student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications or a related technical field

Basic hands-on experience with at least one programming language (for example Python, Java or C/C++) and interest in automation / tools development

Familiar with fundamental software engineering concepts (such as Git version control, basic Linux usage or testing concepts)

Strong learning attitude, proactive, and a good team player with solid communication skills

Able to work at least 3 days per week on-site in Chengdu in line with university and Ericsson internship policies

English reading and writing ability sufficient to follow technical documentation; spoken English is a plus
