Being an ESP Functional Safety Development and Test Planning Engineer for such systems at Mercedes-Benz, you will have the chance to work on a wide span of responsibilities:
Take lead of ESP FuSa development and validation planning, being involved for the full development cycle of the system: from requirements gathering and system design to prototyping, integration testing and release.
Ensure system compliance with functional safety (ISO 26262) and corresponding local validation standards for brake control system.
Perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses to examine potential failure modes and design suitable prevention strategies.
Collaborate closely with the validation team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate functionality, performance, stability, and adherence to requirements. This includes defining test cases, developing test scripts, and analyzing test results. Active participation in all testing phases, from component testing to system & vehicle level testing, is expected.
Work with chassis controls foundation team to establish requirements for advanced brake control systems and emerging new technologies.
Track the latest technological developments in the automotive industry and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the ESP system.
Technical support to Joint Venture BBAC RD
Support engineering change implementation throughout product lifecycle of localized components of all locally produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Act as the window person between joint venture plant and RD HQ, provide technical support for production engineering issues.
Support on system diagnostic issues for the Plant during tryout/pre-production/series production phases
Working together with Field Quality organization on Chinese market issues
