As a Senior Platform Architect / Lead Developer (f/m/d), you will help shape the software foundation for our next generation of Physical AI Level 2 Skills for industrial applications in China. You will work closely with our existing Physical AI Platforms team in Suzhou and contribute to building scalable capabilities around:
- Picking
- Placing
- Motion planning
- Robot drivers and connectivity
- Integration with Chinese robot vendors and local ecosystem partners
In this role, you will combine hands-on software architecture with deep technical leadership. You will define robust integration concepts, shape reusable platform components, and ensure our robotics software stack can connect efficiently to a broad range of robot controllers, peripherals, and industrial systems in the China market.

Key responsibilities
- Defining the technical architecture for Level 2 Physical AI capabilities with a focus on picking, placing, and motion planning
- Designing and implementing reusable software components for robot drivers, connectivity layers, and vendor integration
- Establishing clean interfaces between robotics skills, perception, planning modules, runtime services, and industrial automation systems
- Driving integration strategies for Chinese robot vendors, controllers, and related edge/peripheral systems
- Working closely with the Suzhou Physical AI Platforms team to align architecture and implementation across existing and new product capabilities
- Supporting the creation of scalable software foundations for future extension toward broader robotics and Physical AI use cases
- Contributing hands-on to implementation where needed, especially in early-stage architecture, prototypes, and key technical components
- Guiding developers through code reviews, architecture decisions, engineering standards, and best practices
- Collaborating with product, portfolio, partner, and customer-facing stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are market-relevant and deployable
- Supporting technical discussions with partners and customers in the Chinese robotics ecosystem
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, Robotics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Studying abroad is a plus. but not required.
- 6+ years of professional experience in software architecture, robotics software, industrial automation software, or distributed systems
- Strong experience with robotics platforms, motion planning, runtime integration, or robot control-related software
- Good understanding of software architecture for device connectivity, drivers, middleware, APIs, and scalable integration layers
- Strong programming experience in languages such as C++, Python, and/or other relevant robotics or systems languages
- Experience integrating robots, controllers, sensors, cameras, or industrial devices into larger software systems
- Practical understanding of industrial robotics use cases such as pick-and-place, cell automation, or robot application deployment
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with pragmatic implementation
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Chinese robot vendors, robotics OEM ecosystems, or local system integrators
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, robot SDKs, industrial middleware, edge software, or motion-planning frameworks
- Experience with industrial communication and connectivity patterns
- Background in scalable product/platform development rather than one-off project delivery only
- Exposure to AI-enabled robotics, perception systems, or Physical AI-related architecture
- Experience working at a multinational corporation (MNC) is a plus.

- Fluency in English and Chinese
- German is a plus, but not required
