We are seeking an experienced & qualified Health Safety and Environmental (HSSE) Manager to join our team. The HSSE Manager will be responsible for developing HSSE plans, conducting safety training, and driving compliance with the teams on company’s HSSE management system and country specific regulation across the RE Greater China Sites. The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and a strong commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment. The ability to work independently, partner with the teams, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively are also essential.
Responsibilities Specific to the Role

Lead and operationalize HSSE Management System as per Client HSSE Standards / requirements and application of HSSE risk management for the company’s staff and sub-contractors.
Roll out annual HSSE plan and specific HSSE KPIs as agreed in line with Client plan and sign-off taken from the contract holder.
Drive HSSE assurance programs e.g., regular inspection and audits on the safety provisions as per the HSSE plans.
Capture risks as appropriate in the HEMP register and share with Client team as appropriate.
Co-ordinate, organize and work with the site leads to promote safety activities and campaigns to raise safety awareness on site.
Partner with the operations teams in carrying our JHA / risk assessment of the activities and ensure teams implement mitigations as per JHA / Risk Assessment
Develop (or adopt Client Process) and operate a site Permit to Work Process to co-ordinate all parties and contractors that conduct work at the site/s.
Develop and implement as appropriate, HSSE initiatives, to develop a positive and sustainable culture.
Manage hazards/ incident reports across the site/s and assist in the investigation of all accidents / incidents and record all findings to prevent recurrence.
Share Learning from Incidents to support staff awareness and remedial action plan.
Ensure that all statutory regulations, company’s safety regulations and codes of practice are implemented and compiled by all staff.
Inspect the construction site / Office Building to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working condition and do not pose any environmental health hazard.
Track & document HSSE performance matrix and drive traction with the teams on the HSSE leading indicators
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Diploma and or advanced degrees in the engineering or HSSE education field with 7 -10 years’ experience.
Prior Facility management / projects operations experience and/or HSSE function experience would be beneficial.
Awareness, Knowledge and Skill (as applicable) in role specific HSSE Competences. These include:
Working knowledge of progressive HSSE principles including human factors, industrial psychology as applied to HSSE, behavioural safety management principles.
Ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved HSSE performance.
Demonstrated evidence of Leadership Attributes and experience in working in a matrix organization,
Be able to translate HSSE initiatives into realistic, simple plans for the operations.
Be able to work in a virtual multicultural team and work environment.
Able to enforce HSSE compliance, highlight issues, resolve conflicts and push for HSSE improvements.
Should possess an excellent work attitude and professional qualities.
Should have good team communication and collaboration skills, be proactive in helping team members, be willing to listen to colleagues' different opinions and suggestions and be able to quickly integrate into the team.
In daily work, HSSE should get involved in frontline operations, proactively identify problems, assist frontline team colleagues in developing solutions for shortcomings, and follow up together on the implementation of these solutions.
