Perfection Auto Part
As a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings—which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway—you’ll be doing things that matter, leading at every level, and winning a better way. We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.
Responsible for the development of new products from the generation of the product concept to the introduction to the market. Evaluates market potential of new products. Coordinates the efforts of marketing, design, and production to test and develop new products.
Organizational Leadership & Team Building (20%)
-
Team Construction: Recruit and structure a dual-stream technical organization:
Ceramics Stream: Experts in honeycomb substrate products designing, formulating and production process developing on extrusion, calcination, and cordierite/SiC microstructure.
Catalyst Stream: Experts in washcoat chemistry, impregnation, and precious metal (Pt/Pd/Rh) loading.
-
Talent Development: Define technical career ladders and mentorship programs to retain top R&D talent.
-
Culture of Innovation: Foster a cross-functional environment where substrate designers work with coating chemists to create optimized "System Solutions" (e.g., substrates designed specifically for high-load coatings).
B. R&D and Formulation Strategy (30%)
-
Substrate Formulation: Lead the development of next-generation ceramic batches (Cordierite/SiC) focusing on Thin-Wall, High-CPSI, and Ultra-Low CTE properties.
-
Catalyst Formulation: Direct the development of proprietary washcoat technologies (OSC materials, Zeolites) to maximize conversion efficiency while minimizing PGM usage.
-
IP Strategy: Build the company’s patent portfolio; monitor competitor IP to ensure freedom-to-operate.
C. Process & Equipment Engineering (25%)
-
Process Design: Define the "Process Window" for both lines:
-
Substrate: Batching -> Extrusion -> Drying -> Calcining ->Plugging ->Skinning ->EOL
-
Coating: Slurry Batching -> Top Coating -> Calcining ->EOL.
-
Equipment Selection: Lead the technical specification and selection of critical CAPEX (e.g., 3-1 vertical extruders, Continuous Tunnel Kilns,Shuttle Kilns, Precision Coating machines).
-
Scale-Up: Oversee the transition from Lab Scale Pilot Line Mass Production, ensuring "design for manufacturability" (DFM).
-
Project Management: Lead our brown-field project to build a state of art giga manufacturing site of catalyst coating and ceramic substrates;
D. Strategic Supply Chain & BOM Optimization (15%)
-
Raw Material Strategy: Validate sustainable supply chains for critical minerals (Synthetic Zeolites, Rare Earths, Alumina, Talc). Mitigate geopolitical risks associated with PGM and Rare Earth supply.
-
Cost Down (VAVE): Aggressively manage the Bill of Materials (BOM). Drive initiatives to:
-
Reduce PGM loading (Thrifting) without sacrificing emissions performance.
-
Localize raw material sources to reduce logistics costs.
E. Customer & Business Growth (10%)
-
Technical Sales: Act as the primary technical counterpart to OEM customers (Auto and Non-auto applications). Lead technical presentations for new program nominations.
-
Homologation: Oversee the durability testing and certification process (EPA/CARB/Euro 6/7) to ensure products meet regulatory standards.
