Job Description
**PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Policy, Procedures & Technical Standards**
-
Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of process safety procedures, standards, and work processes aligned with company SHE management system, applicable regulations, and partner requirements

Participate in review and update of process safety documentation, including operating procedures, temporary operation controls, SIMOPS controls, and technical safety instructions
**Process Safety & Hazard Management**
-
Provide technical support for implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) elements in operating assets and project transition phases
-
Participate in process hazard identification and risk assessment activities (HAZID, HAZOP, PHA, JSA interface review) and follow-up of recommendations

Support Management of Change (MoC) process and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) for modified or new facilities/equipment

Analyze process safety incidents, near misses, and abnormal operations; support root cause analysis and corrective action development

Support barrier management and risk reduction actions related to major accident hazards
**Audit, Compliance & Assurance**

Support closure of internal and external audit findings related to process safety and operational risk controls

Coordinate with SHE, Production, and Operations & Maintenance teams to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions

Identify, track, and report compliance status of process safety action items to management
**Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement**

Act as interface among SHE, Production, and Operations & Maintenance on process safety matters; facilitate communication of risks, changes, and lessons learned

Support competency development of operations personnel through process safety awareness sessions and technical briefings

Identify and recommend process safety improvement opportunities through trend review, audit findings, and field observations
Qualifications
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
-
Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline
**Experience**
-
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or other major hazard industries
-
Minimum 5+ years in process engineering, production engineering, operations technical support, or process safety roles
-
Hands-on experience with process safety activities (MoC, HAZOP/PHA, PSSR, incident investigation, procedure review)
-
Offshore oil & gas production experience preferred
**Technical Knowledge & Skills**

Strong understanding of process safety management principles and major accident hazard controls
-
Solid knowledge of process systems, plant operations, upset conditions, troubleshooting, and operating procedures
-
Ability to assess technical risks related to process changes and operational activities
-
Familiarity with offshore upstream oil & gas operations and relevant SHE/process safety regulations and standards
**Communication**
-
Proficient written and spoken English skills for technical communication and reporting
