We are seeking a (Sr.) Logistics Manager, Global Logistics Asia to manage daily logistics operations across China distribution centers and support regional logistics activities across APAC. This role will serve as a key operational owner for Lilly China logistics, ensuring effective warehousing, transportation, system visibility, inventory reconciliation, service performance, and risk response.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Global Logistics, Manufacturing, China affiliate teams, Quality, Regulatory, and external logistics service providers to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient logistics execution. The role also contributes to strategic logistics direction, LSP governance, cost management, operational improvements, and cross-functional supply chain collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across China logistics distribution centers, including FTZ, LTC, CDC, and RDC activities.
- Coordinate outbound shipping plans, daily trucking schedules, and customer order transportation performance.
- Track cost efficiency, quality, and operational performance through logistics metrics.
- Act as a key communication resource between Global Logistics and affiliates to manage process flows from distribution centers to the first paying customer.
- Govern Logistics Service Providers through service reviews, KPI management, and improvement plans.
- Support logistics strategy by evaluating distribution channels, LSPs, capacity requirements, transportation modes, and regulatory / policy changes.
- Investigate logistics-related deviations, near misses, and temperature excursions, and drive preventive actions.
- Collaborate with China / Asia supply chain teams on logistics reviews, forecasting, improvement priorities, and issue resolution.
- Monitor logistics risks and disruptions in China, including events such as flooding and earthquakes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing logistics experience, strong SAP capability, good learning agility, the ability to influence across functions, and strong analytical and reporting skills. Experience in pharmaceutical / biotech logistics, China GSP, RDC operations, cross-functional collaboration, and IT automation or AI applications in supply chain would be valuable.
