Key responsibilities:
Business-specific Government Affairs (Medical Nutrition and Cross-Border E-Commerce)

Serve as the designated GA lead for MND and CBEC portfolios. Monitor, interpret, and influence policies related to functional food, FSMP, and EN & PN products as well as CBEC products.

Support MND and CBEC supply chain and JX nutrition factory to address their operational issues.

Advise internal business teams on the political and policy implications of commercial strategies, product innovation, and market access plans of Rx products.
Regional Government Relations

Own strategic government engagement plan for 7 provinces in Central China including Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Henan, Sichuan, and Chongqing, building and maintaining trusted relationships with provincial commission of commerce and administration for market regulations. Represent the company’s interests in regional policy and business environment discussions.

Coordinate high-level visits between Abbott’s senior executives and senior government leaders, prepare briefing materials, messaging and strategic asks.

Leverage regional government contacts to resolve operational issues for MND and corporate functions.
Issue Management

Lead/coordinate crisis and issue management efforts when business operations face government inquiries, inspections, or enforcement actions on MND, CBEC, and Corporate Functions.

Build and participate in trade associations and chambers of commerce such as USCBC Shanghai, and AmCham Shanghai to amplify Abbott’s advocacy voices as well as regional development priorities.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams of MND and CBEC to ensure aligned and compliant government-facing strategies.
