- Manufacturing Engineering & Process Development: Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for standard products to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance; Drive industrialization of new products (NPI and new localization) in close cooperation with cross-functional teams; Maintain primary accountability for standard products, while supporting Systems+Solutions non-standard products on request or when resources allow; Apply advanced engineering and digital tools to ensure robust, scalable, and repeatable processes; Define long-term in-house washing, assembly, testing, and painting process strategies
- Automation & Digitalization: Lead the deployment of automation solutions, such as robotics and semi-automated or fully automated production lines, to improve efficiency and consistency; Implement digital manufacturing solutions, including MES, data collection, KPI dashboards, process simulation, and smart factory applications; Enable data-driven decision making and real-time performance monitoring; Collaborate with global/divisional teams on digital roadmap and best practice sharing
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Transformation: Champion VTPS / lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the site;Lead process reengineering, Kaizen, routing time optimization, and productivity improvement programs:Promote best practices and lessons learned across functions
- Quality, SHE & Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with internal standards, SOPs, and customer requirements; Drive process capability improvement and error-proofing; Support and promote SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) culture and initiatives; Ensure assembly quality adherence to quality and compliance requirements, such as ISO, IATF, and ATEX where applicable.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Strengthen collaboration across Manufacturing Engineering, Production, R&D, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, divisional teams, and suppliers
- Cost, Investment & Performance Management: Manage manufacturing engineering cost centers, budgets, and related investment planning; Prepare, justify, and implement CAPEX projects for process improvements, automation, digitalization, and technology upgrades;Track project benefits and ensure manufacturing deliverables support agreed productivity, quality, cost, and financial targets.
- People & Organization: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multi-skilled manufacturing engineering team (~4-5 FTE); Build capabilities in digital, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies; Foster a culture of continuous learning, ownership, and cross-functional teamwork
- Risk & Governance: Identify operational risks and ensure mitigation plans are in place; Support crisis management related to manufacturing process, equipment, or operational disruptions, and maintain effective stakeholder communication; Attend & report on local & divisional governance meetings (PCM/PQM/Transformation council)
Educational requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Very good English and Chinese language skills, both spoken & written.
Experience and knowledge requirements
- 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process development
- Strong background in industrial production environments, including cleanliness and washing, assembly, testing, and painting processes.
- Proven experience leading and managing an engineering team.
- Sound business and financial acumen related to CAPEX investments and manufacturing improvement business cases.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrialization, and lean systems
- Experience with automation, digital manufacturing tools, or Industry 4.0 solutions
- Familiarity with quality and compliance requirements, such as ISO, IATF, and ATEX where applicable.
