Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Automotive Logistics & Intermodal Operations Specialist / Assistant Manager to join our growing global supply chain team. This role will be primarily responsible for supervising the destination port arrival operations, coordinating inland multimodal networks (Sea-Rail-Truck), and ensuring the seamless delivery of vehicles and auto parts for Chinese automotive brands (OEMs) across overseas markets.
This is an excellent multi-talent selection gateway for professionals with a solid background in sea freight operations, shipping agencies, or multimodal logistics who wish to accelerate their careers in the booming sector of Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL).
Key Responsibilities
1. Port Arrival & RoRo Operations: Assist in supervising the terminal discharge process for Chinese automotive OEMs, including RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessels or containerized vehicles/auto parts. Coordinate vehicle inspection, tallying, unlashing, and transfer to nearby compounds.
2. Multimodal Dispatches & Network Tracking: Manage the day-to-day coordination of inland transportation. Dispatch specialized car carriers (car haulers) or standard trucks to transfer containers and finished vehicles from maritime ports to inland vehicle distribution centers (VDCs).
3. Demurrage & Cost Control: Rigorously monitor milestones across overseas terminals and railway hubs. Strictly manage terminal and equipment free time to eliminate the risk of high detention, demurrage, and storage fees.
4. Disruption Management & Troubleshooting: Provide 24/7 coordination to resolve operational anomalies on-site, including customs inspections, transit damage claims, container release delays, or urgent vehicle battery jump-starts at overseas facilities.
5. KPI Reporting & Client Support: Maintain daily communication with clients' supply chain teams. Ensure the precise and timely update of overseas transit times, cargo damage reports, and invoice reconciliation dashboards.
Job Requirements
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL), automotive parts logistics, ocean freight forwarding, or international multimodal transportation (Sea-Rail / Sea-Truck). Experience working within or with shipping lines/shipping agencies is highly preferred.
Core Skills:
- Prior exposure to RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessel operations, automotive carrier loading, or FCL container movements.
- A solid foundational understanding of international multimodal freight processes and port-to-warehouse drayage.
Competencies: Highly resilient, proactive, and detail-oriented. Proven ability to handle multi-tasking under cross-timezone environments and tight client schedules.
Language: Fluent/Professional proficiency in English (must be capable of managing independent business correspondence, dispute resolution, and phone conferences with overseas agents and carriers). Knowledge of Spanish or French is a major plus.
Job Type: Full-time
