We are scouting a competent machinery category manager, Indirect Procurement in a changing and transforming Asia Indirect Procurement team. We request open-minded and savvy candidates with strong leadership, strategic thinking, and influential communication skills.
Establish strategies and lead initiatives to implement strategic procurement objectives around indirect spend working closely with various Indirect Sourcing roles and locations.
What You Will Do
1. Develop regional machinery category strategy and implement the strategy in sourcing decision for automation machinery purchase.
2. Drive year-over-year cost improvement in automation machinery spend through supplier negotiation.
3. Champion and secure TCO reductions for the category across divisions and countries.
4. Support NPI/NPD project and meet project requirements on cost, delivery, and quality.
5. Drive year-over-year working capital improvement and payment term extension.
6. Lead regular business reviews meetings with suppliers to improve supplier performance.
7. Develop clean sheet/should cost model for customized automation equipment.
8. Negotiation and maintenance of contracts and supply conditions.
9. Drive VA/VE and localization/substitution projects to improve profitability.
10. Develop regional preferred supplier strategy to improve supplier performance.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
l Bachelor's degree in Automation or M&E Engineering, MBA or Master is an advantage.
l 5~7 years sourcing/procurement experience in connector, RF/Optical communication, EMS, automotive electronics, wire harness industries.
l Minimum 3 years in category management experience, better Capex related.
l Excellent negotiation skills, being able to build a compelling case and convince others.
l Familiar with contracting with multi-national large companies.
l Good interpersonal skills to enable and manage stakeholders.
l Adaptable towards a rapidly changing and transforming environment.
l Experience in working in multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.
l Experience in an innovative but also cost-driven environment.
l
CPSM or CIPS certification is preferred, experience in international trade.

l Insights in advanced manufacturing supply base market intelligence & dynamics
l Fluent in English & Chinese. Able to converse in Japanese/Korean is a plus.
