Responsible for designing and conducting experiments toward the development or improvement of custom polymer compounds. Responsible for developing a testing plan, and procedure, data analysis, and communication of results. Five plus years direct, relevant experience with ability to operate independently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads development of products, adhering to customer specifications, quality, and operational goals and standards.
- Applies multiple theories in testing/approaches to the creation of if needed.
- Provides project management to product platform development including application of statistical experimental design, product testing, and data analysis.
- Identifies material and other functional specifications to meet customer requirements.
- Provides technical guidance across business units.
- Partners with manufacturing to establish quality and testing conditions for new materials.
- Presents technical work to customers and various levels of management.
Physical/Environ. Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area. Work is inside and the individual is exposed to a normal lab environment. Occasionally work in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is loud. The individual will be required to work extensively at a computer screen and will, at times, sit at a desk for extended periods.
