Job Description
Position: Storage Engineer – Technology
Scope and Responsibilities:
As our Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, engineering, implementation, and support of global storage architecture including multiple disparate sites around the world covering many time zones. You will assist in setting the global standard for hardware and software, and provide support for the installation and configuration of new hardware and software. In addition, you will have the opportunity to lead small to medium sized teams through the concept, planning, funding, design, implementation, documentation, and training phases of storage projects. A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts, scripting languages, client/server architectures, and the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts will be keys to success in this role.

- 5-8 years progressively increasing responsibility in computer operations, network and systems administration, and systems engineering
- Experience in a major enterprise environment
- Team player with a proven ability to work closely with others in disparate geographical regions to unite towards a common goal.
- VMAX provisioning and administration including initiator group creations, masking view creations, and SRDF monitoring or configuration as needed.
- VMAX basic troubleshooting supporting any validation of masking views or port group and director utilization.
- XtremIO provisioning and basic administration.
- NetApp cDOT basic administration including 7-mode to cDOT transitions.
- Brocade administration including FOS upgrades, FC alias creations, zone creations, and update of zoning configuration
- Understanding of storage virtualization technologies and management platforms
- Demonstrated experience with advanced storage principals, including database storage design, storage virtualization, and data center replication technologies and concepts
- Storage infrastructure design and implementation experience required
- Familiarity with current systems technologies, including server and networking
- Good understanding of scripting, Python and PowerShell
- Documentation and management of disaster recovery procedures and ensuring system, storage, and network availability through collaborative processes
- Utilize advanced systems/storage engineering experience to conduct capacity planning, advanced problem diagnosis and resolution, system monitoring and error reporting, and system maintenance including creation and maintenance of system documentation and diagrams
- Responsible for installing and configuring new storage hardware and software or supervise contract / vendor personnel during installation and configuration
