About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivatedProduct Stewardship& Regulatory Specialist to join our Product Stewardship& Regulatory (PS) team in Shanghai. In this role, you will play a critical part in enabling compliant business operations across China and Hong Kong by ensuring adherence to chemical regulations throughout the product lifecycle. You will work at the interface of regulatory science and business execution—supporting new product introductions, maintaining compliance for existing products, and helping the organization proactively manage regulatory risks. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to evolving China chemical regulations and the opportunity to collaborate across global teams, regulatory authorities, and industry partners.
What You Will Do:
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Manage China MEE new chemical registrations, including dossier prep, submission, and ongoing maintenance and renewal.
- Ensure compliance with new pollutant regulations through data collection, reporting and environmental risk control.
- Review regulations for import/export, new product introduction (NPI), and Management of Change (MOC).
- Identify compliance risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
Manage Data& Submissions
- Compile and maintain regulatory documentation to support submissions
- Coordinate submission activities with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities
- Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready for inspections or regulatory inquiries
Partner with Business Contacts
- Provide clear and actionable regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams (e.g., R, supply chain, manufacturing)
- Respond to regulatory inquiries from internal stakeholders and external parties in a timely and professional manner
Stay Ahead of Regulatory Changes
- Monitor regulatory developments in China and Hong Kong and assess business impact
- Communicate updates and support implementation of new requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of regulatory processes, tools, and systems
Support External Engagement
- Assist in interactions with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external partners
- Support advocacy and compliance-related initiatives as part of the broader PS organization
What We’re Looking For:
Education& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, or related discipline
- 3–5 years of experience in product stewardship, regulatory affairs, or chemical management
- Experience working with China chemical regulations strongly preferred
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks, including:
- China New Chemical Substance Registration (MEE Order No. 12)
- New Pollutant Management requirements
- Hazardous chemical and restricted substance regulations
- Experience with chemical registrations, notifications, or compliance documentation
- Familiarity with regulatory systems (e.g., MEE platforms, chemical inventory tools)
- Exposure to SAP or similar systems for product/chemical data management
Key Skills& Competencies
- Strong commitment to compliance, integrity, and ethical standards
- Proficiency in and working-level English (reading and writing required)
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions
- Highly detail-oriented, with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Self-driven, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-changing regulatory environment
